Calm down losing sucks I get it however we played step for step with the mighty 9ers full strength with and when a large core of our team on the field last night was our 2nd and 3rd and 4th stringers. We were in a position to win the game last night in the 4th qtr. COACHING IS fine at this point here! Its the players that need to bring it as we get healthy, and they will. Players just want to be put in a position to win these games with their HC, and Staley and Co. does this. That's all you can really ask for with you HC and staff, and truthfully we got that culture, so far....

ONCE WE BEAT THE CHIEFS NEXT WEEK ON PRIMETIME, and we will be beating them.......... We'll be fine with this last half of the season and the perfect opportunity will be there. Playoffs or bust, forget about this game its all about sacking Mahomes now and bringing the heat their
way, so he can see it to believe it.

Otherwise for the next week we are going to be focusing on how bad our 2nd 3rd and 4th stringers played and how our inept coaching sucks and cost us the game. The focus needs to be on the Chiefs and beating them period, hopefully with a few starters back.

Come on, isn't there a veteran even like Chris Harris out there that might be better than a practice squad player. Especially at WR. Herbert has no chance in this offense. And if Lombo is going to start with a run - he is always 2nd and 10. its a waste of a down

Staley's comment (and implied buy in) of the run on first downs:

“We were making sure those rushers don’t tee off,” Staley said of the play calling. “You got to change pace against them because if it just becomes a dropback game, that’s when all the risk is in the plan against a team like that.”
I understand the reason, but if you are in 2nd and 9 or 2nd and 10 every series the pass rushers are going to tee off anyway - and did. The problem is if we abandoned the run and tried to do more than dink and dunk by going downfield, Herbert would likely be sacked 10 times and throw 5 interceptions with what he is playing with. So you kind of have no good options here...

          McKitty can't catch the ball
          on and on and on
McKitty had the one drop that may have been a TD.
He caught everything else, it's just that on third and long, throwing to him underneath when he has no YAC ability is a bad choice for Herbert but maybe nobody else was open.

He did that three times to McKitty on drives and no chance for a first down.

I was impressed with the game the Chargers played last night. They kept playing hard to win even after players left the game with injury. The 49ers were supposed to roll over the Chargers. They just added CMC and got a bunch of their injured players back. Yet the Chargers dominated them, until it became impossible because of the attrition of players. These guys play hard for Staley. If this team ever gets close to fully healthy, watch out. No team is invulnerable. Look at the Bills, they are/were supposed to be the best team in football. But they are in third place in their division, one game better than the last place team. The Chargers fall to the No. 8 seed with last night's loss. They have the same record as the Pats, who are No. 7 now, but the Pats edge them out based on conference record. It's on to KC. Has anyone started the pregame discussion thread yet?

“We’ve got guys who’ve got to step up” Ekeler said. I don’t care who’s out there. If you’re on the field, you’re getting paid to play. You’ve got to step up.”

At some point though, the talent level does become too much to overcome.

That said, if Storm Norton wasn't an option last night, why was he ever on the roster.
Wide Receiver group - I think we have seen enough to know that Michael Bandy should not be on the field.

Even if you are using other practice squad players - there is no reason to have Bandy still playing

Murray had a very good game....big pass play to rb. leading to 49er first half td, came when Murray was out and Reeder replaced him.

If yesterday was an indication that the defense is turning the corner (& they get Bosa back),

and the offense gets back Allen/Williams (soon).....this team could be poised to do damage in the playoffs.

                    But no more injuries.

I can' even get mildly upset with last night's loss. When you are playing back-ups to the back-ups and guys are getting their first NFL snap starting on your OL, what the hell can we do???? This season has just become a train wreck with injuries, nothing more and nothing less. Until we get guys back healthy this attrition will continue to doom our season.

                      Bring on the Chiefs!!!!

No, it will give them a chance for Collinsworth to go into full nut washing mode on Mahomes and his darling team the Chiefs.

I'm actually starting to admire Staley's coaching considering the injuries we have and the poor cupboard that TT has stocked. His mistakes are not unusual for such a young coach. Sack TT and find a GM that can provide some depth for this team, provided it isn't the Spanos clan that are still picking our personnel. If that's the case, we are simply screwed.
