Truth be told Mr. Mack was being blocked by 2 players every play! The real question is where was everyone else.

The other guys were not running stunts or anything remotely creative, they were bullrushing and staying in their lanes, keeping Mahomes in the pocket.
There was no blitzing.....no putting Mack over a guard.

Staley coached as conservatively as you can. They did vary their coverage on Kelce, to little effect.

People are starting to question Herbert, Derwin and Mack's abilities.....this is a sign of a bad coaching staff.

Has there been a worse 2nd half offense in the NFL? This is getting brutal.
TO's, 3 and outs, no scoring....no way this defense can hold an NFL offense down for 30 minutes( especially the NFL's best!).
Any chance we have of winning again this year starts with our ability to put points on the board in the 2nd half.

I am not questioning those three. I question the dudes coaching them and the dude upstairs picking the players

that was huge and they punted the ball. the play calls before half -
why the sweep to Ekeler
why not just run the damn ball up the gut and push HErbert into the end zone

plus I get not wanting to give the chiefs the ball back but just odd play calls to run wide there

As far as covering the chiefs receivers...Travis Kelce and blaming Derwin...heck...Kelce knows where he is going...so he has that split second advantage...so combine that split second with Mahomes pin-point accuracy and really...its almost impossible to defend. Some of those completions were by just inches..which is what makes Mahomes so great.

The only defense is a pass rush or an off target pass or drop.

Kelce and Mahomes have been doing that to everyone for years...they are just good. Hard to stop two HOFers.

Same as last week. Opponent adjusted and out scored Chargers in 2nd half. That’s coaching. Lombardi ran out of plays again.

The other glaring problem is both the DL and OL got dominated.

Even with the top picks and FA’s Telesco has repopulated the OL and DL with….they still look just as bad as ever.

Telesco and John boy had a chance before the trade deadline to get some quality beef and WR help. Instead we got practice squad castoffs.

And the ONE guy you have to shutdown (Kelce) gets three TD’s? Coaching is a trainwreck.

Herbert is not stupid. He sees the game calling and preparation regardless of injuries.

1. Herbert's personality is of the amiable type, which will avoid confrontation, if possible...

I believe he won't change the play that his 'superior' think it is good, even he does not agree that it is the most suitable...

2. If it is Burrow, I think he will do it.

3. I don't consider this as Herbert's weakness. Instead, knowing his personality, the GM cannot use good talents, but must provide top talents at HC, OC, QB coach for him!

4. I am still willing to give Staley more time, providing that he MUST upgrade the talents at OC & DC... (If he still insists our current OC, DC are good enough, I want him gone with them!)

5. How about F.Reich (ex Colts HC) as OC and B.Flores (ex Dolphins HC) as DC?

(The reason I proposed these two is because, their former team still must have paid their salary, so they should be cheap for Spanos.)

6. I don't think Spanos will hire any expensive HC.

Last year, I pushed for OBJ to improve the roster. Not that he was going to the Chargers but I pushed for trying to keep getting the roster better

This year - like you said, the DLine and WR depth has been hit hard - and who do they sign. A bunch of practice squad castoffs. Linval Joseph did play for the Eagles. And maybe he doesn't come back to the Chargers but did they try

Actually Clark Hunt got on a plane to meet with Andy. That was the reason Andy came to KC. Chiefs had no QB and not much else to offer.

That sweep was a weird play......the blocking scheme was totally unorganized.
It almost seemed like a tight end was pulling the other way.

Second consecutive time where they squandered a chance to go up by two scores with a bad sequence of play calls.
Lombo's inability to put together a running game as an OC is killing this team.

First and goal from the 5, near the game's end, would have been a perfect time to run the football and take time off the clock,
or force the Chiefs to use timeouts.
Instead, two passing plays.
