My not so bold prediction of the year: if we handle the Titans then we are going to make the playoffs. Use the "turned the corner" narrative if you'd like. But I think if this defense can put together that sort of effort consistently, you will also start to hear "getting hot at the right time" as well. Probably need to win out to make it happen but it's now doable.
You know, a win changes the flavor of all the posts, doesn't it? Last week at this time - after an embarrassing beat down at the hands of the Raiders - all the criticism directed at Staley & Co. (and Telesco) was well deserved. Now, a nice win against a team with a winning record (first one this season), and guys are lining up to enshrine Staley in the HOF. And all 10 years of futility with Telesco is, magically, forgotten.

It was a good win. I'm super happy for Herbie, who managed to silence the unwarranted criticism that *he's* been taking lately. But "turning the corner", for me, isn't just a one game thing. It's a pattern of improvement and, most importantly, consistency. Can we realistically say that's been achieved?

Perhaps coaches know how to use 3rd string talent better than first string? I’m dumbfounded by what the D accomplished last night compared to the rest of the games this season.
One could either say there is depth on the defense,
      or coaching matters.

      Probably a bit of both.

Gilman & Jasir Taylor looked good.
      Fox was big.

Don't overlook the notion that San Fran put together the blueprint.
The Chargers however don't have san frans talent on D.

I’m looking for consistency now. Can they start to string together good performances. Parham and Bosa should both be back for this game. But the thing Staley emphasized post game was how hard he saw the Chargers play. That was evident. I hope they can find a way to bottle that effort and focus and drink from that bottle each game

Are you upset the Chargers won last night? Do you want the Chargers to lose to the Titans next week?

I think what happened is that Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel played into Staley's defensive game plan and didn't want to adjust. And, yes, I think Staley borrowed heavily from what the 49ers did the week before.

It would be nice to see Qsmokey give the defence and the defensive game plan the credit it is due as well as the offensive game plan and play calling. Maybe even admit the injuries have mattered... I doubt it but it would be nice.

The Football Database: Titans ranked 29th overall offense. 25th overall defense. Boltup!

Dan Campbell is also looking for consistency.

                    Inconsistency ?
"That's not what we are looking for." Says Hoodie.

The point is that StaleyD has started to take hold. There is growth. There is player development. We are building depth. And for this scheme. pThe locker room is now owned by Brandon Staley.

                    Joey. Derwin. Rashawn. Trey.

Feel good win last night. The players got a taste of how it feels to dominate. Damn good I’d say. The Herbert locker room spike said it all.

Great win but still have to figure out why Staley can't get this team to play in the 3rd quarter. No TD's in the 3rd since when, week 5 against Cleveland? And in a real ironic twist, if the Pats win tonight, next week we need to root hard for the Raiders!
