Why does getting wins have to be so difficult for Charger teams every year?
Of course, by pointing this out, we're opening ourselves up to posters who believe we're "sad", or "have a shitty life", or "have mental problems". LOL! Bring it on!!

Your analysis, and your final question, is soooo on point. The Pollyannas have set the bar so low that a single win, against ANY team (shitty or not) should be celebrated as if it was a Super Bowl victory. You know, because it's "so hard to do".

give KC their due, they’ve won plenty of hard games, close games, just because they’ve maintained the consistency for so long doesn’t mean it’s been easy…having continuity in the front office, coaching staff, and ownership that knows not to stick their nose where it doesn’t belong is big time too…you can’t compare the two organizations from top to bottom, because our top sucks major ass and it affects everything else…

I'll take a win against any team, shitty or not. At the end of the season they all count as one toward the total and that's how you make the playoffs. I have never seen a team get a .8 of a win in the standings because the other team was shitty. Wins matter and they make me happy come week 17 or 18. Go Bolts!!!!!

Haglund's miserable because there is not "more fun" highlights to analyze.

Well, Herbert is third, behind only Mahomes and Burrow, in passing yards. He is 24-5 when opponents score 27 or less.

Keep typing your solid football takes friends, but it's all about the W's and the StaleyD system taking hold.

Tackle well. Obtain YAC. Don't fumble. Trend up as the playoffs come into the picture.
We do not play modern football.

End of the day - this is all that matters

Sure during games am frustrated but if the team wins - its a good win. No such thing as a bad win. Just have to hope they can get to the ten win mark this sunday . - keep on winning

It’s kind of funny to me. Herbert is so good and such a terrific and humble kid that some in the media actually hate on him for getting recognized. The talk was always he doesn’t win in the clutch. But he has 5 winning drives this season which I think is anNFL best. Then its he never made the playoffs. Now he did and its he hasn’t won a playoff game yet. Once he does that it will be he didn’t win a Super Bowl yet. And once he does that it will be he has not been league mvp yet.
Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Wu, at some point on that list, you have to score, yes?

If it's hard to win in the NFL, then that places a premium on coaching staffs, the margin of error being so fine - one would think, no?

Evidently not, ...... our coaches are helpless at any point in the game, but particularly come crunch time.

Losses are always demonstrations of talent deficits.
Chaincrusher would approve of that argument: just have the top 40 experts determine the outcome before the coin flip.

Wins are manifestations of excellence in coaching.

This team was expected to make a playoff run, not just enter it and get unceremoniously bounced:
to me, that is the standard.

If that notion is invalidated because they don't have every starter available, then no team should have any expectations, anytime, anywhere.

For those who have been preaching since pre-season that this team simply doesn't have the talent,
you can continue talking up the coaching staff (& Lombo in particular).

You are right, no standards by some here, but a lot of shape shifting.

So we ARE allowed to compare our win against the Colts to KCs loss because...well, it's convenient. And we AREN'T allowed compare our wins/losses to KC's because...well, it's not convenient. Got it.

How about we all agree that the Chargers almost always have difficulty winning games, against good or bad teams, and rarely ever blow a team out (14+ points). They may get a few wins per season, but it's usually a tedious grind that comes down to one play/drive. Even while having a top 4 QB!

Yes, we have a top-4 QB And, yet, we can't seem to ever blow teams out (thankfully we found a team to beat who was playing a QB off the bench and who was missing their top-2 RB and their starting CB and coached by a non-NFL coach). And much of the reasoning here for our lack of wins comes down to:

                          1) Wins are super tough to get.
                          2) We hate the owners and it's the owners idiocy that is making Allen, Williams, Linsley, Herbert, Ekeler, Slater, James, Bosa, Mack, Samuel, Dicker, etc., play worse than if we had a different owner.
                          3) Injuries (don't look at the 49ers, apples and oranges)

But it can never be coaching or schemes ("Lombo didn't drop that pass or miss that block" - because, you know, those things never happen on other teams).

I'm sticking with it's the coaching, with a nod to injuries compounding that problem.
