Actually, despite the claims by many, they really could win with him doing basically the same thing he’s done in most every game. A few more excellent play executions here, a bounce or two there, a couple less penalties, defense rising up like the last 3 weeks … if KC was the class for LAC to get into - in both games they were one play from a win. The outplayed KC the first game, KC got VERY lucky on a botched end zone pass.

thats more likely than the possibility that Staley and Lombo have held the secret super great offense in their back pocket all year so they could spring it loose in the playoffs.

So most likely scenario - Offense performs a bit better, overall team performs at high level, but Lombo is still basically Lombo. Does Staley fire him then after a SB win? Regrettably i say no way. I would like him replaced

OL coaching is definitely not good enough. I don’t know if its the OL coach or if its Lombo though. I don’t buy the “many iterations” theme as the original starting OL wasn’t cohesive. Staley should know.

KC didn't get lucky on that play:
someone on offense (Lombo?) was asleep at the switch, didn't notice that Everett was gassed after sprinting 30 yards (go figure!),
and fatally opted for hurry up mode near the goal line in K.C.

hopefully have a good week of practice and more snaps against the Broncos
Bosa says he is feeling better than ever and his training is showing that. Get him some game conditioning and let’s roll.

Exactly - Staley admitted he saw Everett want to come out of the game and still ran forward with the play
          thats on the coaching staff

(granted, that was also when Lombo wasn't using Ekeler in the red zone and it was first and goal - so that was also bad coaching)

This is a guy who at some point in his athletic prime was about to complete a standing backflip.
            at about 265lbs

They were freakishly lucky that someone “was asleep” and Everett jumped out of the way of the pass. Please go rewatch it, i don’t care what Everett’s gas level was, there is no excuse or reason to jump AWAY from the pass. Jumping away took more energy than following it to the inside. He had inside leverage and Herbie thru to where he was supposed to be and at that very instance Everett inexplicably jumped outside. That was very lucky by KC, they didn’t do anything on their own except not run away from the ball.

Lombo can’t monitor 11 players on the field while he is looking over the play chart in seconds to decide what to call, and perform a physical assessment of every player to decide if they can run one more play. Everett should have fallen to the ground and screamed for a Ref if he was going to quit half way thru the next play. I go to my grave convinced it was his responsibility as a grown ass man playing professional football to either gut out the play or stop the play from being snapped. They didn’t ask him to run another 40 yards, it was 3.

Yeah, it sounds like he’ll get some reps against LAR…who gets cut tho? I vote for sony michel to get cut, he’s done nothing and doesn’t play special teams, unless they want him around in postseason because of his experience playing in the playoffs or something…

He won’t get picked up by anyone, thats for sure. They could bring him back if they think they need him in a later game.

Yeah, to me michel is the obvious choice, even norton represents someone that can be used in jumbo packages or in an emergency…the staff has been activating spiller over michel for weeks now, I just can’t imagine him having any value at this time, other than they want him around to talk to the guys about preparing for the playoffs?

I suppose they might IR someone out of the blue instead, but which backups have been nursing injuries? They just put hall and gaziano on IR in the last two weeks…I can’t think of anyone else off the top of my head…

He was gassed ..... the play call was at the line of scrimmage while he was sucking wind, near the endzone of a hostile environment with plenty of bear guzzling drunken Chief's fans in close proximity farting and kicking up sounds.

The ball wasn't exactly whistling at his head and he 'jumped away'; it was a quick in-pattern and he didn't cut inward.
He had all the appearance of not knowing what pattern to run.

Lombo, consistently short on answers, particularly close to the endzone, feels that the only positive contribution he can make is a quick snap where the defense is not ready.

Post the gif and we can break it down.

I also see the value of continuing to hone and tune the football machine.

I’d like to see a modest adjustment by Coach this week. Play Eke, Slayer, Dub half the usual plays. Play Mack much less, may 25 plays. Sit Derwin as precaution for his concussion and I expect Joey won’t be activated. I WOULD play the OL the entire game as they do need the most work. Depending on game score and how protection looks, either play Herbie the full game or pull him mid game. Depending on all results across the league, reassess what to do for Denver.

I don’t think Eke, Slayer or Dub need reps or will get “better”, they are mature vets and professional technicians. fresh legs will be more valuable. Same with Mack - he doesn't need reps, he’s up in years and we’d be better off if he is fresh. Herbie is just too valuable, he is the golden key to the city on the hill.

Let the rest of them play - keep rolling. Voila, compromise is achieved, thanks for working it out with me
I like your suggestions. As I said, it needs to be a balance. 100% Herbie should be on the sidelines if the game(s) are decided, either way, entering the 4th quarter. Some of the other key players, as well. If we're locked into a particular seed heading into Denver, then rest everyone (not literally, of course, but you get the idea).

..And Spagnolo easily diagnosed the situation and had his rookie DB in place to make the catch from Herbert. Great KC masterplan! Clearly no luck involved.
