All the people who think Payton would have been a bad idea were probably glad we passed on Andy Reid when he openly wanted the job after Mike Reilly but the Spanos were reportedly worn out on retread coaches and wanted a new up a coming type of guy.

regardless of only one superbowl or not enough super bowls the fact is a Superbowl on the resume is not a bad thing. We saw Brees go from terrible to decent in spite of Marty but then become and absolute HOF passing game legend under Payton. If he can get that production out of Brees give him Herbert. He has an even better resume than what Reid had when he got Mahomes. Of course if Spanos realized what we had in Herbert we would have got him Dabol instead of Staley. What the hell were they thinking Dabol developed Allen from raw to superstar what would Herbert be with that coaching. Why does Spanos want Herbert to do it by himself while high level offensive coaching is an after thought, a position left to be filled by an inexperienced defensive coach with limited NFL connections. Now we wait for him to reach out to people who can’t won’t take the job until he calls up an old buddy who is a failed coach again and gives him another chance.

Do you remember when the team lost 0-45 to the New England Patriots? All of that happening right in front of Dean, and he was appalled by it just as much as the fans. The team could have avoided the shutout, but Lynn was dumb. The loss was embarrassing.

How are you gonna talk about the organization and its ownership being bad when you contributed to one of the franchise's worst defeat in history?

Well Lynn did coach during relocation and in a soccer stadium so he did coach during a difficult time.
