Spiller might be decent next year, he's not going to wow anyone.

Yeah, there's no way you can evaluate a guy with only 18 carries.
The injury in TC set him back.
The fact they were pass-happy last year didn't help.
Let's see what year 2 looks like.

I think he has another contract in him with us. His work ethic along with how little mileage he has over 6 years makes me think this. He is a major part of this team and locker room. If i felt he was playing his last year with us i would likely agree. Hes barely gone over 200 carries in back to back years. His football IQ is off the charts. He is a really important player and leader. Even at 27...its his reduced mileage and fan favorite rep that makes me think he stays a Bolt for another few years. Im more interested in his complimentary piece. And i think Spillar will grow into that. Maybe even Kelley.

ST and TT have mentioned fixing the run game...i dont necessarily think that means drafting another. I could see a value Free Agent possible added as well. I see a lot of guys wanting us to draft a RB in round 1 or 2. I had a 2/3 grade on Spiller. I think the new OC could get him going. Worry about Ekelers replacement after we finish filling the holes everywhere else. I dont blame AE for the lack of run game dominance last season. The blocking wasnt great. Inconsistent. But most importantly its been pretty predictable for a while now.

ALL his highlight films show him running thru huge holes you and I can exploit. I think there are multiple backs (5) in this draft who will excel past Spiller. He is a JAG.

I'm certainly not willing to jump to that conclusion - yet. He was hurt and missed a lot of camp and was not healthy well into the season. He may turn out to be JAG but let's see how he looks next year.

Just don't want to hang our RB hopes on Spiller this year.Give him a chance?Sure,but there are some great lookin backs in this draft grab one....or two.I still want Bijon even tho he ain't Fallin to 21 and I'm thinkin Moore may want a WR or TE first.

No one is saying not to give him a chance.

The question is whether you bring in competition and in what round?

Pass on a guy you like in the first 4 rounds because you want to see what Spiller brings in his 2nd year?
