Wasn't that from some guys on a podcast? Not sure how accurate their "insider" source was as lots of rumors were swirling from supposedly connected people. Not saying it is not accurate that TT made the call, just cautious about something we'll likely never really know about.

You can teach route running. Getting separation with moves and catching the football is a very different story.

There have been receivers who have overcome dropping passes. Jerry Rice wasn't that great with his hands initially.

Plus as I said before we are not using him correctly. Need to get him the football and let him make plays in the open field. That should help his confidence.
At any rate we are stuck with him as the Chargers are not giving up on him during his rookie contract.

In the mean time and in into next year we have a problem at WR. Allen is the only reliable option.
Nobody should give up on him already. Q will be great in year two, don't worry.

yeah, some pimple-faced podcaster dude I never heard of. Wish we could nail this down - i'd like to know one way or other and havent seen a second source for it.

Would not surprise me if TT tilted the final scale away from Zay. He fits TT's modus operandi since he got here. I still don't know what Staley's modus anything is, to be honest. He's a line of scrimmage team coach, but I havent seen that take effect on either side yet so ... ?

I saw that podcast and it was a group of several guys and the way they were talking and the level of detail I don't doubt they had an inside source. It was extremely detailed information as far as what the braintrust thought.

Anyone who bothered to study film and scouting reports knows that QJ is moderate floor/high ceiling.

The issue is injuries to MW and Palmer, necessitating accelerated deployment.
            We play modern Harball.

I'm not giving up on him yet. I think his playmaking ability will be higher than palmers but it's going to take time. we'll know for sure after his second season.

I didn’t bother. I just see a guy who drops passes right in his hands in critical moments and doesn’t fight for the ball. He’s got a long way to go to be more than Alex Erickson

Telesco and others have said repeatedly that everyone needs to be on board with the first selection. I highly doubt it was a spur of the moment draft decision, because they had all the receivers available, save one.

LOL...so now Erickson is somehow elevated above QJ? Didnt Erickson have a drop the week before? One of his games he had a drop. Erickson is just better than Doss, Bandy and apparently Fehoko....recent WRs we have had on the PS. Thats not saying much.

Whats puzzling is Palmer has made some nice catches, made the winning catch against The Raiders and it was a tough one and he gets hardly any credit here. The guy has been pretty good imo and still on the upswing.

I like Palmer. Nothing flashy but puts up solid numbers. Last yr with Keenan and Mike out he put up really good numbers.

Palmer Year 2 was much better than Palmer Year 1. not that Q should get any consideration or anything ... cough ... I wanted Q to come out with a bang too, I get it.

Palmer could catch a football in year 1
