Mullen ... I don't see what you guys see. He won't make the team as a ball stripping specialist, and some of the strips everyone is excited about were at the end of what otherwise was a poor play by him. If he can't cover elite receivers, he's not going to be a CB in the NFL - I didn't see nearly enough to conclude he will.

I hope he proves me wrong.
I’m thinking with the amount of guaranteed cash they gave clark that he’s probably a lock to make the 53 man, they know better than us if both austin johnson and otito ogbognia are going to start the season on IR…I think that’s why clark got guaranteed money to sign, they basically guaranteed him half what they normally pay a PS player to be on the PS for the year…

with the corner, TE, OT, C, and safety prospects I think most of those guy were brought in to replace some of our current PS guys that have already been here for awhile, the practice squad is undergoing a staley overhaul…a lot of the PS guys we had were here before staley and many really needed to be upgraded, the last two years there were only 2-3 guys on the PS that I thought were even worth keeping around in case injuries, it’s telling that often over the last two seasons guys were brought in off the street to fill injury gaps instead of using guys already on the practice squad…

I like what I saw from Ezeike.
              He can make contested catches
He sees what to do with the ball after the catch
              He can block !

Mullen can cover. My opinion is he is not an outside corner due to his size. He could be very good in the slot. He struggles due to his height at times but also due to his aggression. In the slot closer to the action he would be better. Indiana had him outside. He is fast, he is tenacious and he is very good in run support. He has a chance bottom of the roster and special teams. He is competing against Taylor and Leonard.

Yeah but BS already has a couple development projects at DB he already likes that he's already started the grooming process with. He even mentioned them as why they didn't draft DB. I don't know this kid beats any of them out - so PS candidate?

I expect 1-3 UDFAs make the roster max. I could see maybe another 4 making PS. What did they sign, 20 UDFA? its long odds and I don't see anything jumping out on this kid's tape besides an odd propensity to generate more punch out fumbles than usual. I see a lot of plays with poor coverage. bad technique, recovering for tackles after catch and YAC. and that is a bigger part of being a CB than punching out fumbles 20 yards downfield. I don't see the NFL level talent, but I welcome him to prove me wrong and shut me up.

he looks very smooth and fluid on tape, faster than the 4.75 he posted. could be just really slow players he's running against but I don't think so. he's got a shot at the squad, maybe?

Ezeike had offers from every school in the Pac-10, all but Stanford. Four-star recruit.

Since Chip Kelly took over in 2018, UCLA has had several contenders for the Mackey Award. TE Caleb Wilson (Cardinals) led the nation in receptions that year, then he handed the reins over to Devin Asiasi (Bengals) in 2019. Both Wilson and Asiasi were drafted into the NFL after their breakout seasons in Westwood.

Greg Dulcich (Broncos) had a breakout season of his own in 2020, and he further cemented himself as a top tight end target in 2021. He, too, was NFL-bound, with the Denver Broncos selecting him in the third round in April.

USC's Malcolm Epps, Stanford's Benjamin Yurosek, Washington's Devin Culp, Oregon's Terrance Ferguson, Oregon State's Luke Musgrave, Utah's Dalton Kincaid and Colorado's Brady Russell are the other Pac-12 representatives on the watch list.
If Ezeike is anywhere near Dulcich, the Chargers got a steal.

Did any UDFA a make our initial roster last year? I look at our roster and think it will be tough for any UDFA to make. We have fairly decent depth on this team.

Maybe Clark at NT makes it if our DL guys don’t make it back from IR to start the season. Or a S if Woods is not physically ready to play.

Yes, we have a good team. our depth looks pretty solid too.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
