In a different era, Jammer might have been one of the all time greats;
he happened to enter the league when the NFL was restricting the type of physical corner play of the past.
As is, he and Gill Byrd are the two greatest Charger corners (the original Mike Williams went south rapidly after 6 seasons).
Jammer almost helped the Chargers get by Denver in the 2013 playoff game.
They should have moved Jammer to safety.

Good one . . . . . . . haven't heard this in a long time. It was hotly debated . . . .

Best press cover CB in years and the NFL changed the rules after we drafted him. The joke was opponent WRs would seek him out and run into him for a free PI flag and a 1st. He might have been HOF now that contact is allowed.
Jammer was pretty good, but not flashy and not an 'impact player'. Had a couple of Pro Bowl seasons, right? But not a guy who every year was in the discussion of the NFL's top corners.
QJ was a very good CB for a long time. Many folks think that just because you are a first round pick that you’re a bust if you don’t make it to the Hall of Fame and win rings. If Quentin Johnston has a similar career to Jammer I’ll be pretty happy with that. Above average starter for 10+years. Facts are that the average first round pick is out of the league in less than 4 years.
In his prime he was one of the better CBs in the league. Not elite, but pretty decent. I remember had some personal problems toward the end of his time in SD. He was married, with kids, and he got some action on the side, his wife found out and kicked him out of the house, he was devastated. That might've affected his play in his last few seasons.
