I would understand i guess. I dont think we will be drafting this high anytime soon. And if it means we dont spend 3 1st rounders on a QB 5 years from now then i would understand. Wentz is no Rivers though coming out of college.

I think when you have a guy like Rivers who has another 5 years of life then you can take a guy on day 2 or 3 and develop him. A Cardale Jones type in the 5th etc. Give him a few years to develop. If he dosnt look like he will pan out it was only a 5th and you can still draft a QB high when Rivers is done.

I like this idea. The thought of Jones being Rivers' understudy intrigues me but I think he will be a member of some team before the end of Day 2. I like Carson Wentz, but I would be disappointed if he was taken at #3. There will definitely be a defensive difference-maker available in the 3rd slot and an offensive one if Tunsil somehow slides.
