I doubt any of this happens, but that is my sportscenter moment.
Totally agree with this. The top end "elite" of this draft just don't seem to be that much better than the guys you can get in the second and third rounds so we might as well get more of them. I mean would you rather have one really nice snowboard that is only good for one type of riding condition or a few different boards that can be used in all different types of snow conditions? Right?

Not to mention, my # 1 of this draft is Kelly so the # 3 overall pick does me no good at this point anyway.

Based on all the chatter on *this board* about Kelly, I gotta figure he's not going to get out of the 1st round. So I guess my advice to you, my friend, is get used to the idea that he ain't gonna be a Bolt.

We could still get Nick Martin in the second, he's more of a late second round value which is why I'd like the Bolts to pick up an extra second round pick

A few days ago I mentioned reading something about Jerry Jones being in love with Ramsey and willing to trade up to get him and was told flipping 1st round spots with Dallas wouldn't even get their 2nd rounder this year. And that was before the Browns/Eagles trade. Common Wisdom is we really shouldn't drop back lower than pick #10 if we want 1 of the highly rated OLs, DLs and now our selection probably just got better because of the 2 QBs expected to go 1 & 2. If people value Ramsey, Tunsil, Bosa, Jack, Elliot as top 5 picks- that helps us even more if we find a serious trade partner.

Besides comparing multiple trade value charts, it would be nice to have a good feel for what we could reasonably expect to get if we flip back to #4, 5, 7, or even #8 like the Browns scenario I threw out there. I agree with Steve that we need to come away with a Blue Chip OC and find a way to stabilize OG if we want to actually make an effective fix on our OL this year- but what I've read of Tunsil's injury history and maybe bad personal decision making scares me away from him and it would be stupid to overpay for a 2nd tier OL just to fill a need. Adding Tunsil + King Dunlap gives us 2 injury worries at LT right out of the gate and probably a lot of starts by Hairston again. Bosa and Ramsey scare me as top 10 picks on the defensive side too. If by some chance TT can pull off 1 or more trades to teams desperate to have any of those 3 guys in our 3 spot, but not for us moving back too far and get a couple extra quality picks I would be thrilled.

I'm starting to wonder what Fluker's trade value is? He might be the odd man out at OG after the draft and with him being still under his rookie contract maybe attractive to teams looking for a starting RT with more upside making RG money?
I am just a fan and have no idea of the value each spot has or how much it has increased/decreased in the past few days. But the number 3 spot now is the new number 1 for BAP and there are at least 2 players that can fill that role, maybe 3. Ramsey and Tunsil are the two main players that will warrant teams to trade up. I want Buckner myself but how far will he fall? I hope we can trade back to 7 and still get him or 8 and get Bosa? Let Liars Month come to fruit and fill our tree........

I agree with you Q. Unless the Bolts trade down in Round 1 into somewhere in the middle of the round, then take Ryan, I don't think he will be there when they pick in Round 2. Last night in his latest mock (which now seems to change every hour) Daniel Jeramiah had him going at #16 to Detroit.

I'd like the extra second as well.. but my thought is doubling up on defensive linemen.

1> trade down, still be in line for Buckner, or maybe Shaq Lawson

2a> Kenny Clark or Austin Johnson or Bullard. Hopefully 2 of 3 will be there

2b> Jeremy Cash or Karl Joseph (Or the kid from Boise State, whose name is escaping me)

              3> Nick Martin

Worse case scenario here is that we lose on Martin and end up with the kid from Michigan State (Allen?) either here or, more likely the 4th freeing up this pick for maybe a TE or WR.

That would so completely transform our DL. New plug and play center, a safety to compete with the stiffs we're throwing back in there now.

Darian Thompson. He's a good free safety and a ball hawk. Missed a few games with injuries at BSU. Quality kid who I believe has a wife and child.

                  Using trade value chart
                  http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...t-trade-chart/
#3 pick is valued at 2,200 if we sell it at 2,400 (the past 2 trades have been sold at 109% & 117%)

                  This would be our options

Team and picks that are close to 2,400
                  Cowboys 1st #4, 3rd #67 and 2017 2nd (at #48) adds 2,475
                  Jaguars 1st #5, 2nd # 38 and 2017 3rd #69 adds 2,465
                  Ravens 1st #6, 2nd #36 and 2017 3rd (#80) and 4th (#112) adds 2,400
                  49ers 1st #7, 2nd #37 and a 2017 2nd (at #48) adds 2,450
                  Browns 1st #8, 2nd #32 and 2017 2nd (#48) adds 2,410
                  Bucs 1st #9, 2nd #38 and 2017 2nd (#48) and 3rd (#80) adds 2,470
                  Giants 1st #10, 2nd #40, 3rd #71 and 2017 (#48) adds 2455
                  Titans 1st #15, 2nd #43, 3rd #64 and 2017 2nd (#48) and 3rd (#80) adds 2,400
                  Jets 1st #20, (2nd # 51, 3rd #83)* and 2017 first (#16) adds 2,415

(In bold are the once I like)
*The Jets trade would change if they add Wilkerson; It might be #20, (Wilkerson and 4th #118) or (#51 & 83), and 2017 first round)

that would be OK with me, I just think two D linemen is putting too much in one area....not sure Martin lasts til our third pick and just not sure Allen can step right in at Center....but I agree this would be a nice draft scenario

please explain why you think we need to totally transform our DL and using what philosophy we need to adapt to? I have been harping for YEARS Don Johnson needed to be replaced because we were not getting any development, and even some regression out of our Dlineman- even high picks like Luiget and Reyes. Now that has happened and I'm excited to see what this guy does in transforming the DL. We currently have Luiget, Mebane, Lissemore, and Carrethers, Philon, Paleipoli- all 3 young guys the team is high on but have missed time with injuries. Unless it's a can't miss edge rusher that truly fall into our laps as BPA and will get a lot of snaps on the DL- I'm not thinking DL is a bigger priority than a Blue Chip Center, probably another highly rated OL guy who can play inside or out, a S to replace Weddle and maybe even ILB before going DL.

                      Maybe I'm FOS though
Life is too short to drink cheap beer
