A fair number of college LB have made the transition to S. Darren Woodson is the name that comes to mind, but he is not the only one. It probably will take a year or two to be complete, but that doesn't mean that they can't be situational guys while they are learning to do the whole thing. Woodson was a nickle LB for Dallas his rookie year, and played a lot of downs. He took over by his 2nd season, and then up until he hung it up.

A lot will depend how long it takes him to learn how to cover. It is acutally easier sometimes, just because it will be totally different and won't have as many bad habits to unlearn as if he was trying to refine his pass drops as a regular LB.

I was watching his game against Pitt this morning, he's a damn wrecking ball. Plus, 4th highest coverage grade among all draft-eligible linebackers in 2015.

Mike Mayock's assessment, though it's crap quality, shot on an IPhone.

He plays very fast attacking the backfield. Blitz packages, Punt Rush, Field Goal Block while learning his new position.
The only negatives I have heard "from the media" is his pass coverage reads. Hope they are wrong and will be the steal of the draft if able to play Safety for us!

I was wondering about that myself. Our other possible hybrid is Dexter McCoil, who played safety in college, played LB in the CFL, and is practicing at both positions in the OTAs. He's 6'4", 220, so he's much bigger than the typical DB.

Brown can definitely rush the QB as a blitzing LB, and is fast enough to cover a TE. Maybe they want to confuse the opposition or just punking fans who wanted a SS to replace Addae.

Not a big fan of making young players learn multiple positions.

I like when musicians play multiple instruments.

On our team, it might be a good idea to teach every player to play center.

                          What position in 69?
Jersey number 69 sounds like an offensive line, man.
