I believe Jammer was going thru a divorce. I dont know what distactions Flowers has but what bothers me is the coaches not recognising he is distracted and they keep throwing him out there when he isnt at his best. Either that or Flowers is using an excuse while admitting he sucked and trying to save face while getting himself together. He still may suck again but i hope not.

Unless they felt that an injured and distracted Flowers was still better than the backups...

We need Flowers to come back and play at a level somewhat consistent to where he was when we picked him up. If he does (not just him), we have a chance at being able to watch a pretty awesome defense. The offense could be right there with them. If we keep the injury bugs away, we could do some damage this season! I'm ready to turn the corner...

Either Flowers needs to step up and play back at the level, or we need someone else to step up. Possible, but not likely.

Either way, the pass rush has to get a lot better. Pass coverage and the CB are only one part of the defense. All the guys in the secondary and in coverage at LB, no matter how good they are will benefit from a consistent pass rush. Ingram and Attaochu started to show more of that at the end of last year, but Bosa needs to bring the pressure from the inside.

Liuget also has to finally show why he was a 1st round pick. IMHO, he has been a underachieving since his rookie year.

Sorry about all the drama from my pity party or whatever. I just feel Flowers needs to earn his money. Excuses don't fly.
I slept on this before responding, and I do agree with Steve on most of his points. I was probably over reacting. My bad. No I am not claiming to be perfect, I was drawing a parallel to my own job which is high pressure and mistakes get you replaced quickly. I see the NFL as similar in that regard.
I have always respected Steve's opinions with the highest regard for his Steve-like abilities. My style of posting is more drive-by comedy than what passes for football knowledge, and it sometimes can be distracting.
It can be a little troubling to realise you are not very well thought of by people you have high opinions of, but in the grand scheme of things who really gives a rat's ass. Back to football.
