We Lost A Great Chargers Fan Last Night

After a short battle covid, my Dad passed away last night in his sleep.

Capt Clay Pederson Sr (Ret) was a real life Rambo; Green Beret, Jump Master, Bronze Star(v) Purple Heart and too many other decorations to list. The Rambo comparisons also hold true with the damage done by PTSD and Agent Orange.

We moved to SD in 1976 and were Chargers season ticket holders until I left in 96.

He was the biggest Chargers fan I knew besides me and although we had our differences, it was always our common ground and we spent hours disecting plays from Fouts to Rivers.

His favorite player was #55 and would often hang out at Seaus on the chance he would get meet Junior. Much to my surprise he actually did.

If you have a moment tomorrow, think of my Pops when toe strikes leather and we crush the Titans

Thank you both, he never really forgave the team for moving, but this year I had started to convince him about Herbert

Deepest condolences, OG. Sounds like a huge loss to the fandom.

I am praying for you and your family. Having a family loss is never easy. I have also experienced unspeakable family loss this year. I may get the courage to post it some day but not now. I can never fully know what loss anyone else has experienced as every loss is unique to the individual I can sympathize with you and pray for you.

I'm sorry for you and the family. Your father had some fascinating real-life stories to tell I'm sure. Take care.

I love this post, but of course deep condolences for the loss of your father. It sounds like he lived a full life and that the two of you were very close. What a blessing to have that.

Thanks for the kind words, I have smile, he was a linebacker at Colorado but can't stand Dion Sanders. So some of our last conversations were how conflicted he was.
