no kidding. I've never seen any gymnast that could land as close to straight-legged like her. It's like she has an extra muscle set that no one else has. And she makes everything else look so easy. I know Raisman is strong as well but she isn't in Biles' league.

Katie Ledecky's 800M freestyle win was like watching Secretariat winning the Belmont. Just crushed the competition.

She's a horse! She's better at the longer races. Too bad the Olympics doesn't have the 1500 meter. She'd have another gold there.

Dirado can't quit now. I know she's getting a new home and all but she's too good to quit now.

Yeah. Totally anaerobic. The best part of the Olympics are the surprise golds, like Simone Manuel, and Shotput Diva. Big favorites losing too, hated that the soccer women lost, and the men's basketball better look out.

Yeah, I love seeing their faces of shock and utter joy after they win a gold. It's a great moment for us watching at home too. Really is. Simone Manuel really touched me.

Anyone watching synchronized swimming? I understand it's good to be flexible of mind. I get it. And in that vain I ask for your help. How do you watch synchronized swimming competition and not have your mind go immediately to Harry Shearer and Martin Short? It's all downhill from there. At least for me. HELP!

Pretty good drama in Athletics (Track and Field) tonight, especially Pole Vault.

I would hate to lose like USA's Allison Felix did in the 400 meter race tonight. She lost to a woman that dove across the finish line. I've never seen that before.

It happens more than you would think...she was just lucky. Heartbreak is swimming for over two hours and inadvertently interfering your next opponent for silver over bronze when 4th is clearly behind, then getting DQed. I didn't know that there was no tollerance for a false start in a sprint race, but its OK in a distance race.... imagine making the Olympics and getting DQed before running a step. You don't see these things on the primetime show, or the sudden losses in the knockout rounds for team USA.

I saw a guy get DQed for a false start in a sprint. That would be the worst. No room for error.

Whoa. I just found out a fellow Desert Hot Springs resident - weight-lifter (clean and jerk) Sarah Robles - won a bronze medal. And guess who her cousin is? Eric fucking Weddle!

I lived in Desert Hot Springs (just a little North of Palm Springs) from 1993 - 2001.
