Not a reason to fire a HC that went 14-2.
In the NHL, the Montréal Canadiens fired their HC in 1987 after he won the Stanley Cup in '86.

There's probably some legal issue reasons, but if you truly want to Win, No you don't fire a 14-2 Coach, because "Everybody is angry and yelling and it makes me uncomfortable!".

Are you telling me you think he was a bad GM?

If that is the case I will go ahead and mute you.

AJ was a bad GM. I'll tell you that.i would've never fired Marty. He could've found common ground, instead he thought he was larger than life. And to replace Marty with Norv?!?. Big mistake and the rest is histroy!

            He underachieved.
Only got 1 HC hire. Norv. Good GM get at least 3 HC hires

              I think this is what's going to come down . . . . . . . . Mark Davis had this planned when he canned Joshy AND the GM. Really the only other alternative to Vegas for JH is Chicago. It's NOT happening in LA . . . . . . . . . sorry to say. Our clown ownership can't deal with employees with spines . . . . . . . . . .

Jerry Jones fired Jimmy. And Barry Switzer for a moment got a free ride by hall of fame players to a SB.
But how long has it been since for that franchise........and for Jerry.

AJ was a bad GM in the end... His biggest accolade was 2004 but the foundation was set in 2001 by John Butler. AJ was nothing but fail from then on...

                    Mute me...

Butler/AJ benefitted from us having the #1 pick in 2001 which they traded down and led to LT, Kaeding and other players (took Brees w the #2 pick) and the #1 pick again in 2004 where they again traded down ultimately getting P Rivers and Luis Castillo.

After that his drafts were really mediocre then becoming lousy. Craig English, Buster Davis, Antoine Cason, Jacob Hester,Jonas Mouton etc - just awful #1 & #2 picks

That was Marty's FOURTH time having a team with 11+ wins lose in their first playoff game. BYE

                        ...So what ?

It's easy to forget prior to Schottenheimers arrival in '02, the Chargers had won 1 game in '00 and 6 games in '01.

Football 101...before you qualify to "lose playoff games", you have to win regular season games; which Schottenheimer did with regularity
everywhere he went. I loved beating Denver, Oakland & KC during the Schottenheimer era.

Only the Spanos' keep 1-15 Mike Riley and fire 14-3 Marty Schottenheimer; you may be OK with that...I'm not.
