I would bet pretty good money (a whole 10 dollar bill!!) that the Chargers will be in KC on Thursday Night Sept 12 . The NFL would love Harbaugh v the Champs
If the Niners win - - I expect Harbaugh v Harbaugh possibly on that first Sunday Night as the Ravens will play at the Chargers this coming season
LFG
Harbaugh needs a hat from Fouts - MFIC!!
Hope not. I'd rather face them when after our units get a chance to gel during the season..
So Minter has not officially been interviewed yet? And the Chargers have to interview an external minority candidate for both DC and OC? Hard to keep track. I think Harbaugh's staff is all set, just have to follow the protocols and make the announcements. I remember listening to some former GM, maybe Polian, and he said every HC candidate comes in with their list of coordinators and assistants and there is a lot of redundancy from candidate to candidate. And he would ask if they have talked to these coaches and most would say no. So it was just a dream list. Harbaugh seems so squared away and detailed (and connected) I bet the entire staff is done and just waiting to sign the papers. No Ficken news means to me he is staying? I would assume he would have gotten more interview requests like Moore did.
Ainsley had the one interview for Giants. Moore is gone, Beatty is gone. I don't think Harbaugh will keep anyone from the Staley staff, even Giff, because he wants a brand new clean sweep. Ficken is the only wild card to me and probably depends on how he and Harbaugh connect with each other.
Probably will get some 'formal' interviews done at the Senior Bowl this weekend for the OC/DC, as well as other staff. Senior bowl and the combine are like the coaching conventions.

Marcus Brady would be a Rooney rule candidate for the OC position
As for the staff, other than Ficken - move forward. Giff will probably find a job somewhere -good coach but probably best to move forward with Harbaugh people

TBD on Fickens. I'll be happy if he's retained but unconcerned if Harbo has his own guy. A lot of position coaches will likely be different, perhaps all of them, you could be right. That will wait until the coordinators have signed on the dotted lines.
Waiting to see what role Harbo Jr gets assigned - TE coach maybe?
