Still counts as a FA signed. Have to lose more FAs than you sign to get comp picks.

No if he signed for the minimum, doesn't count. I think the minimum is like 1.9m or thereabouts

i liked Wu's post about Jim Harbaugh day and running the ball, but then i read your post.

Herbet to MHJ, or Herbert to Nabers, is just too damn good. sign me up for some of that.

at that point, we don't need to run. just kidding.

he wasn't released the Ravens just chose not to place a tender or sign him to a futures contract like what we did with some of our practice squad guys that won't be returning...so but even released guys are free agents, I think you're asking about "qualified free agents" as in those guys that affect the compensatory pick formula. correct? Mason is kind of weird type of free agent because he hasn't posted four years of service in the NFL yet and he's spent most of his career on practice squads, so he's not 'vested' which means he gets a lower minimum salary than vested veterans, he's going into his 4rth year so his salary is going to be somewhere between 875k-985k, it depends on how much time he's actually spent on a roster or a practice squad....so don't worry, his salary is too low to count against the formula....

The Chiefs have 71 players under contract. The Chargers have 58 with the addition of the new FB. The Chiefs are the SB favorite now and we have an incomplete roster. Not remotely the same. The Chargers do not have that much cap space considering the condition of the current roster. Every team with more cap space than us has at least 70 players signed. Does that not seem somewhat significant to you? No player is free.
