Yep - plus Dobbins isn't going to cost a lot of money. Even if he signs for $2m - that is only a net to the cap of $1m at this point

He just might want to explore all options in terms of fit, chance to play, scheme, etc.

You don't want to overload with veterans and draft somebody that might duplicate a position

Free agent will be used post-draft/pre-training camp to fill in around the edges

I listened to a AZ podcast and the guys initially were mocking how the Chargers are becoming Balt West or Michigan West and they were laughing and then you could hear them thinking in this long silence……and they both agreed it’s a good and smart thing to do.
