Doubt we called them about him. I wouldn't

He did. One of the very few seasons he played all year.

He deserves respect as this business relationship ends. He earned it.
I do not have one problem how Keenan Allen handled this negotiation. I blame the NFLPA and the CBA they keep signing for some odd reason allowing these contracts to be easily ripped up at the teams discretion.

Heckuva player for 11 years -- the tape and stats tell the story. Like you said, produced on the field, didn't have locker room problems, competed, one of the best ever.

Projections now have us with 1 round 5 and 2 round 6 comp picks in 2025.

In Round 6, we already have our own and NEs from JCJ.

Should Joe use some of this or even our 2025 round 4 to move around in the 2024 draft ?

just scroll down and you'll see the different breakdowns for a trade with either the Chargers, the Cardinals, the Patriots, or the Commanders, they don't even bother to list the Bears as it's pretty clear that Chicago is not trading that pick this time and the cost would be absurdly high...

Their 1rst scenario is a trade up to pick #5 (showing a picture of McCarthy kissing a trophy):

Vikings trade picks 11 (358) 23 (245) and 108 (30) for picks 5 (468) and 37 (162). This trade would see the Vikings sending 633 points for 630 points. It’s a fair trade per the trade chart but it’s not going to see the Chargers trade their second round pick.

The likely trade would be # 11 (358 points) and #23 (245 points) for pick # 5. There is a possibility the Chargers would throw in 105 (32) but is unlikely because of the quarterback tax.

Roman's offense hasn't featured star receivers who are deep threats. If possession is the name of the game a dependable route runner makes more sense.

ask yourself how valuable the aging Kelce is to the Chiefs
Once Keenan called the Chargers bluff, we had to trade him.

I also believe the changing role of Charger WRs was a factor.

We do not need production there.

We need a deep threat for when opponents stack the box.

It's a shame to admit that after we just used a 1st rounder on WR last year.

Which is another reason why we won't this year.

I have no ill will either way . Keenan deserves his money BUT...if he bluffed thinking he was more important to the team,....he is an example of with JH2 that nobody is higher than the team.

His contract last year with Houston was one year, 2.6m

If that is the kind of contract they can get for Perryman - thats smart.

He wasn't bluffing. Neither were the Chargers. Keenan just said "I'm not doing it" and now he's a Bear. With a rookie QB

Perryman has leaned up and improved in coverage.

                        He tackles with force.

We gotta believe Jimbo likes that.

Only 15 minutes into it -- it is excellent

-- the point about not having as many third down drives - getting a guy that can explode down the field - -60 yard plays and less third downs

-- the point about not getting a yard on 3rd down --

just telling Jack to "shaddup about Odunze" -- Matt is a few beers into this podcast

                          Money loves Odunze
