Yes that will be a viable plan...Henderson, Tuten, Sampson, RJ Harvey, DJ Giddens would all fit the bill nicely

I'm not worried about defense. Minter doesn't need much more than we have. Special DC IMO.

I disagree. Trade or FA remains an option.

But if Minter gets the same performance out of these bargain boys that he got out of Ford, then he really is a magician who can plug in any plug and have a good defense and I guess it doesnt matter who we sign.
Pooona was a bargain boy himself, or did you forget? these coaches understand what these guys can do well and they also understand how to make that work in their system...we had the top scoring defense with a nobody D-line last year and I don't think these signings are random...

these are very specific players that they targeted for a reason, not random...

we have two of the best OTs in the NFL, they are going to add to the group and with Pipkins, Salyer, and Bozeman in reserve they'll also have experienced back ups when needed...

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Zion move to center, I've been calling for them to give him a shot at center since Linsley went down...now we see if he can become the player we all expected when he was drafted...

to the point where Poona needs to send him part of his signing bonus, LOL...

                  Henderson ran a 4.43 10 yard split 1.52
                  Judkins ran a 4.48 10 yard split 1.51

I actually think Judkins is a better option. He’s as fast, faster out the gate (wow!), and he is a more physical back.
Judkins is the perfect long term option if they can’t get Hampton. Henderson in open space has a lot of juice though, but Judkins is a nightmare to tackle, fast! and also good in open space.

TreVeyon Henderson, an Ohio State Buckeyes running back, has a history of injuries, including a broken bone in his foot in 2022 that led to surgery and missed games, and nagging injuries in 2023 that also impacted his performance.
Here's a more detailed look at his injury history:
                  • 2022:
                    • Missed nearly half the season due to a broken bone in his foot, which required surgery.
                    • Played in 8 games, recording 571 yards and 6 touchdowns.
                    • Was named honorable mention All-Big Ten Conference.
                  • 2023:
                    • Battled nagging injuries that impacted his performance.
                    • Played in 10 games, including the Cotton Bowl, and amassed 926 yards and 11 touchdowns.
                  • 2024:
                    • Played in all 16 games, likely due to the arrival of Quinshon Judkins in the Buckeyes backfield, helping to keep Henderson fresh.
                    • He was a first-team All-Big Ten selection.

Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins underwent a minor hand procedure this week after dealing with an injury leading up to the Oregon game, but is not expected to miss any time and is on track to play against Nebraska.
Here's a more detailed summary of the situation:
                  • Judkins is feeling better since the procedure
                  • Injury: Judkins suffered a hand injury that impacted his performance against Oregon, including a fumble and a season-low rushing performance.
                  • Procedure: He had a minor procedure performed on his hand during the team's bye week.
                  • Expected Return: Judkins is expected to be available for the next game against Nebraska, according to multiple sources [2, 3, 4]..

I think the better option is Judkins to pair with Najee. “Thunder and more thunder”
The same speed is basically there vs Henderson and he’s a mauler and a much better inside runner too.
                  No major injury history whatsoever.

Najee is RB1 for sure. Regards #2 we have Vidal, Haskins and Patterson. We don't need to take a RB but who knows? They may have their eye on somebody.

Agree completely. Nobody is saying that these guys are stars-- they're just guys with the right tools to do what Minter's system requires.

You could say the same thing about the D-line guys Hortiz brought in a year ago, Ford and Tart. Both proved to be bargains for what they were paid. I expect to see similar scheme-fit effectiveness from Jones and Hand. Like you said, these signings are not random.

Najee is RB1 and will get the bulk of carries. We have Vidal, Haskins and Patterson. I don't think we need another but Skattebo might be a fan favorite alternate.
