Keenan has played X receiver at the NFL level and performed. Harris has never played a down. Harris could easily turn into QJ 2.0 at this point. Experience and proven ability matter.

Lets not get carried away with pessimism on day 1 of camp.

I think Harris is going to be a good player, I think he is actually under rated. If he hadn't missed 6 games last year his college numbers would have been massive and he would have been a first rounder.

We need Harris to become the X we need. A slowing , older Keenan is not the ideal solution there.

At some point you have to bring in youth and SPEED to this offense so it is actually harder to defend.

I am really interested to see what Rice looks like. The team was much higher on him than what made sense from what we were able to see in limited preseason games. KLS' deep speed will also be interesting.

He is the best WR in Chargers history if you exclude Lance Alworth, Wes Chandler and John Jefferson. I am biased but as a pure football player, Jefferson was better than Allen even if only for the three years he played for the Chargers.

As for the Chargers -there are other options. Haglund mentioned Gabe Davis. Interesting name If Hortiz signs Allen - so be it. Just have to see who Hortiz thinks is the right fit

With Williams retiring, this opens a huge door for Rice to prove his worth. To show the coaches the work he’s put in this offseason.

Allen only makes sense if they think they can get away with playing Ladd more outside. Otherwise, it’s time to find another X.

Keenan Allen has struggled to find a new team despite his reliable production, and Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports believes he knows why. In a recent article, the NFL analyst said age is catching up to the former Charger and he might not have much left in his tank. While Benjamin adds that he’s still a good route runner, he’s not the same player he was even two seasons ago.

I'd rather see which of the young WRs steps up. We have more options available than last year.
