I posted the clip of the article from Spiegelberger - I didn't write it. But if looking at sacks, had 8 in 2022. 2023 was an outlier in terms of sacks.

I am still selling high on Mack as I don't think he will replicate it next year and will revert back to previous form.

can you point to specific spots in that highlight video where he's running away from the defense like a 4.30 runner should? I wouldn't expect him to be constant 4.3 as he's doing the important thing of being patient and letting holes develop, working off blockers etc. But I honestly didn't see 4.3 breakaway speed in the first 2/3 of the video - I may have just missed it?

I'll say this, Wright plays fast, always moving his feet, always running hard and runs often at full speed. He just plays fast.

Like I said he has some Pacheco in him but is alot faster.
Wouldn't surprise me if he runs a 4.4 and anything below that is a bonus. I seen him listed at 4.31, hand time most likely. Benson at 4.37.

See Bralen Allen at 4.4 and I don't see him coming close to that.

We'll see from the combine. It is an indicator that they have speed but the numbers may be exaggerated....but they should show well regardless

I hope Jim will put a stop on giving under performing top picks more playing time. We want to see the overachiever play more.

I agree with this with a small caveat - how much of the underperforming is on the player and how much was on the poor coaching staff?

I went and watched a highlight to the end - I did see some runs late in the reel where he showed nice burst and speed, he ran away from defenders on a couple plays. They should front load his highlight reel with those plays for the ADHD squirrel crowd like me.

I don't know about 4.31, probably got a little "hand-time" bonus - 4.4 sounds more legit - that is very good for a RB who can run with power inside too. what is he - somewhere 3rd thru 5th rd ? RB rankings vary wildly.

I am just glad TT is not drafting our next RB. He does not know how to ID RB talent.

Ekeler isn't fast. he's quick in tight space, quick acceleration burst, but then he's not going all that far that fast afterwards - he usually gets caught from behind.

He looked faster in the last 1/4 of the highlight tape. I'm guessing closer to 4.40 but that is plenty fast for a RB. he's 210+, not 180lb.

Yup, kinda think Harbaugh saying nice things about Ekeler is just being diplomatic at worst, at best is meant to keep Barkley negotiations reasonable. 😎

This is probably closer to what's going on.
IMV, Mack has trade value that will have teams interested in acquiring exclusive negotiating rights.
On the other hand, the Chargers have got to find interested trade partners, when everyone knows our dilemma.
Our most beneficial outcome would be to obtain numerous multiple picks in the first 100 pick range.

I want to be wrong about the value for Mack or Bosa if they are traded. But I don't think they are going to get the 1st or 2nd that some have suggested - including the writer associated with the Cowboys. Deandre Hopkins was on the market last year and the Cardinals didn't get anything for him. I understand his 2022 season was not as good as Mack's 2023 season but still - what teams will be paying, at present Mack his $23m

Yes, the Chargers paid a 2nd/6th for Mack two years ago - but the Chargers were also very aggressive in FA signing JCJ, SJD, Austin Johnson, Everett. Telesco and Staley were on a mission so who knows what other teams were offering for Mack. Two years later -- hard to think his value is higher than what the Chargers paid.

And lastly -- if the price tag for Mack continues to be his current price tag (both for one year and multiple years)- the Chargers will have to push most of his contract to the future. If I am pushing cap - I think Wilkins or Madubuike are better targets at that price point at this time of their careers than paying Mack and hoping he doesn't decline or revert to 2022 form

There is zero chance anyone's going to give us a 1st or 2nd round pick for either guy - zero . . . . . . . . . . . . . NFL GM's get a lot of criticism, but none of them are actually stupid.
