    Boy, I dunno...

Even Darrell Revis in his prime couldn't cover a wideout forever. You have to rush the passer well enough to force him to throw before he wants to.

Jonathan Allen would also be an asset in run defense.

I think it's entirely possible that J. Allen could have a Roquan Smith type impact on a new team. Smith was the 8th overall pick of the 2018 draft class (by the Bears). He was traded to the Ravens in 2022, and has prospered.

Something was going on there because that line was loaded and did not dominate games the way they should have.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
          Let’s win one for Mack.

It takes a team. A great DT helps but it takes DL, LBs, DBs together. Edge rush has the most impact as a single unit.but we still need IDL, ILBs and DBs.

              This. ^

Remember the Sony Michel experiment a few years ago? Fournette would be worse.

I wouldn't rule out adding a FA RB if they want to have more than Gus Bus, Dobbins, Vidal and Mason. I don't think Spiller, Dotson or Patterson will make the roster. It'll be someone like Cam Akers or Kareem Hunt or Dalvin Cook or even Joshua Kelly.

They will not have forever and most offenses are designed for quick short passes..... We are going to have a great pass rush, from our pass rushers and smart blitzes to create pressure....but a great pass rush is meaningless if the opposing receivers are instantly open for quick passes...... please review any of the NE games vs Brady when Bosa got to him in 2 seconds but the ball was already gone....because receivers were wide open.... lol

and yes i agree about having a great DT that can stuff run and get pressure up the middle.....

Henley, Colson and DJ will have to cover the instant passes. Get the pick, PD or at least a tackle for loss. If the ball comes out they know where it has to go.

                  ps: We won't play Brady.

Ravens are already paying Matibuke, I doubt they trade for another expensive iDL

How about COACHING being the negative variable? Look at our own defensive line...Mack, Bosa, Tuli...even with Bosa out a lot, Mack is still elite and Tuli is solid and ascending...a lot of coaches would LOVE to have our D-line...add to that Derwin and Gilman...then ASJ and a few others...it's a known fact that Staley's lame and complex Pattern Match D held back our play...I say BAD COACHING can turn even talented players into ineffective players...
