There are almost always some good IDL in every draft class, but Jamal Williams-- who was a 2nd Round pick in the 1998 Supplemental draft pick-- is the Bolts' only IDL 'hit' in the last 25 years.Originally posted by Boltnut View PostWith early looks at next year's draft, I see some good IDL's and CB's.
Cost-wise and longevity-wise, I think they should get those positions via 2025's draft.
Corey Liuget was totally serviceable, but you hope for something more than that from the #16 overall pick.
Luis Castillo had a couple of promising seasons before flaming out.
Jerry Tillery (34th overall, IIRC) was next to useless.
Igor Olshansky (2nd round) was a much better athlete than he was a football player.
For the Chargers, it seems like IDL has often been a draft priority, but by-and-large, the IDL they've selected didn't live up to where they were taken.
The Bolts haven't drafted very well at CB-- always a need-- either. Quentin Jammer was solid, not spectacular, but was taken 5th overall in the entire draft, a lofty status. The exact same spot from which Ladainian Tomlinson was drafted the year before.
Jason Verrett and Antoine Cason-- both drafted in the 20 - 27 range-- did not live up to expectations.

The cap hit is also prohibitive.Originally posted by Topcat View Post
I'm guessing Harbo's coaching would maximize Allen's potential...only question mark is the price tag...would they take a 4th rounder for him?
My take is...see what Oboigbe, Okoye might surprise us with in our rotation.Strange69...Adopted Bolt

Yep...interesting that some people are still touting signing high-priced FA's, right after Trader Joe just barely engineered us out of cap hell...some people have such a short memory...Originally posted by wu-dai clan View Post

OctoPop had a few good years before his attitude issues led to him being let go and then he flamed out.
