    They cant do that?
Mack may only be looking for the 1 year deals.
And is deciding each year does he still want to play ball.
    He just got 18m guaranteed.
And team also may prefer the 1 year deal for a player his age
Both would want to have the extra year.
    And they haven't wanted to
Who has it better than us?

Mack probably decides and he probably doesn't want to commit to more than one year at a time, it's his call and they're not gonna stir the pot because they want him around so bad...

Cut Davis , Sign Shaheed or yes, Pierce if they can for less than 30m and whoever they get for backup QB. Maybe it is Lance since he won't get signed as a starter. Or a Picket, or Howell or Trubiski. Don't matter of those 3. Hopefully none see the field .....but they could.

            That's the offense. Anyways
            Love this plan. Nice.

I’m a big no on Pierce for anything over $20 mil. He’s going to get $25-$27 mil. Not worth it my eyes. You’ve got your top 4 in QJ, Ladd, T. Harris and KLS. They need depth! I say release DD, sign Skyy Moore and draft Da’Zhaun Stribling from Ole Miss. Stribling has good size at 6’2 205 lbs and speed at 4.37. He stepped up in the playoffs this year. That gives you 4 guys at 4.41 or better and 3 guys at or over 6’2. They also got Campbell that I know some of us are interested in seeing him develop because of his size and speed. I know people will roll their eyes at Skyy Moore, but he was one of the better punt and kick returners last year and he knows the system.

They can do what you said. Could have written something lwith funky numbers but it just pushes cap into 2027. Meaning if he had signed a two year deal, $12m signing bonus, $12m salary for 2026 -his cap number would have been 12m and not $18m but there would have been $6m of dead cap next year.

I think they just want to keep it clean for Mack - year to year - and for players like Biadasz and Tartt, they might have longer shelf lives so to speak so can fudge their numbers down the road.

Its all just accounting - the money is on the books either way

                  A QJ trade is possible

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Rashod Bateman, Quentin Johnston and Dontayvion Wicks are potentially available in a trade.

Bateman had a disastrous season, managing just 224 yards and 38 targets in 12 starts. It would be surprising if the Ravens were able to get real value for him on the trade market. He’s under contract through 2030. No, really. Johnston is probably the most viable trade target of these three, but he didn’t exactly shake his reputation for inconsistency last season even if he did perform better than his first two years in the league.

I think you are dead on. This is a matter of respect to Mack. Chargers not playing any games, just giving him the one year, totally guranteed money. It’s how a good team treats a great and deeply respected in the locker room player. And Mack is showing respect back not asking for ridiculous money. He didn’t even keep up with inflation.
Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Given the WRs in this draft, I think we are looking at a conditional 4th or a 5th round pick for QJ. Chargers better off letting him leave in FA for a comp pick after the season. I just don’t think there is a market for him.

I think they could pull down a late 3rd, early 4th, myself.

I would take the one in the hand, for Quentin Johnston, with a draft pick this year, over a two in the bush, maybe a comp pick for QJ in 2028. A 4th in 2026 is equivalent to a 2028 low 2nd . The best comp pick they could get for QJ is a 2028 3rd round pick.

Based on what can happen with comp picks, meaning the Fulton/Dobbins will they or won't they - just give me the pick this year. They need the draft picks

Take the pick for QJ - sign Rasheed Shaheed -- call it good.
