There is no need for the 5th year option -- see what he does this year and if he balls out, pay him. Don't lock yourself into something

it all depends on who we draft this year. we have a week after the draft.
Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....

A big part of it has been his Oline's and the players he's chosen to bring in and resign, draft and not draft at this position. You can argue the OT's injury but we'll see what happens this year.
We all know the OT injuries had a major impact on how we played 2025 post season. FA OG Becton was a failed corrective attempt.
You don't need me to point out the multitude of major changes that have been made thus far to the Chargers Offense. I strongly suspect that there will be more by this September.
I believe many of us understand that how we look in March is only a vague hint at what the team will play like in Dec- Jan.

Najee Harris and Omarion combined to miss a lot of games too.

We didn’t have the backups to overcome the devasting amount of injuries. It’s that simple.

Will Najee be ready for camp this year? That's if someone signs him.

I'd happily take him back if he's healthy.

Omarion, Vidal, Mitchell... we're set at RB.
I kinda like Amar Johnson, too...

We are getting close. Like i said , it depends and there is a draft every year. .
Not saying its the new formula but in some cases for getting a great player,...it's a thing. We.didnt win anything with Joey in his 9 years.
But this is where the Chiefs screwed up .... great drafts until they dialed in on the missing component ... and then they stopped having great drafts.
Is Mesidor at the top of most draft boards at #22? ... probably not.

People are too assuming the excellent drafts the last 3 years will just keep on rolling.

IF our #1 WR only has the value of a 4th round pick, we definitely need to upgrade and move away from him and bring in a better WR.

Why are the Chargers so far not rushing to extend QJ and lock him down and pay him a nice contract. Maybe because he's not worth it.
One reason is that teams will have him for only 1 year, before facing the expensive decision of extending him to a 5th year.

I think he's an X receiver, but the Oline problems pretty much took that away from the team .... so, he has not demonstrated it for an entire season.

They are also assuming Hortiz can fill multiple needs with few picks. So far, for the first 4 rounds when you get the best players .... I have heard we should draft Edge, OL, CB, WR, DL, LB, TE, S

There are 5 picks. Maybe 3 play alot next season. He can get more picks by trading down if that works out for him. Then there is after draft releases / cap casualties. .....and he keeps doing that with an eye on the waiver wire till TC.

Whoever thinks he is done building this roster hasn't been paying attention the last couple years. Who thought Biadasz was suddenly going to get released?
