You can't... and won't... get everything you need through the draft. That goes for every team in the league.
Having said that... there are still some good players not signed yet. Some positions are easier (and cheaper) signed than others.
    Protect the QB
    Run the ball
    Play great defense

That is glaringly obvious...but some are suggesting multiple other positions drafted before day 3 also. It is a lot of mileage out of 4 draft picks and a crapshoot in round 6

Whoever thinks he is done building this roster hasn't been paying attention the last couple years. Who thought Biadasz was suddenly going to get released?
What I have been paying attention to...is how many good offensive linemen get released June to September. Some like Biadasz yes, in March BEFORE free agency season starts and teams want to make the bulk of their roster changes...but in the summer practically none. Teams rarely let decent o lineman go after the draft.

That is why last August when Hortiz needed a tackle, all he could make happen was trading 2027 draft capital for a complete bum who couldn't play - Austin Deculus. That is why he scraped Hart off the street who hadnt played in the league for 3 years.

That was our whole struggle last year when injuries and poor play hit the o line. There comes a point it is too late to do anything about it because no one is trading or releasing quality o linemen. Hortiz has left himself the draft to finish IOL. Maybe a signing right after the draft, that won't affect his comp formula if any FA is left... but by training camp forget about it.

Depth at other positions in training camp cuts is doable, but not a starting calibre offensive lineman.

Exactly my point..especially with league low 5 picks.

We dress 48 each game. A big EDGE such as Faulk or Overton also covers our DL need. A center who can also play some guard such as Hecht stabilizes our OL. TE#3 can be a UDFA. Hortiz will fill out our roster with his famous one year contracts.

Good points, Canada...as I see it, we still need a G and a decent backup T...a backup C would be helpful also...after our O-line injury woes last season, u would think we learned our lesson...

Go watch Penning vs DEN game 2 last year. He was better than given credit.

There's also not an NFL team in the salary cap era that won't have a weakness on its roster. Sometimes those weaknesses can't be fixed in free agency with an overpaid player.

The Seahawks' worst player last season was probably right guard Anthony Bradford. His current backup is a 2025 sixth-round pick named Bryce Cabeldue, who played on special teams in just eight games last year. They didn't sign anyone to take Bradford's job. They also lost possibly their best offensive player, Kenneth Walker III, and signed only Emanuel Wilson in free agency. If that doesn't tell you that free agency very likely won't solve all of your problems, I don't know what will.

I'll take yer word for it...so, are u saying Penning could be a decent backup and possible starter? I do like Penning's run blocking...

I think there's a chance he could be coached up to play average OG. I still want an IOL pick in the first 3 rounds.

Slater got hurt in TC which was late July, early Aug. Dont recall the date. The draft ends in late April. Moves had been made between then and early Aug. We didnt get anyone because we didnt need anyone.

Now we might , so he might get one earlier than Aug. As much time as he has spent in the NFL he still learns from his mistakes. Every GM does, ....but there are certainly some bad GMs out there. Luckily we dont have a owner who tells him who to draft like others do.

With 5 picks Joe will nail the two PONs and 3 BPAs. I can live with that.
