Jim appears to have total buy in regarding MM's offensive philosophy, which is radically different from the philosophy of his 49er teams with Greg Roman. The NFL offense has evolved, fortunately Jim is flexible enough to recognize he as to adapt or die.

I respect that about Jim. I also think he has evolved like any good coach and person should.Originally posted by Velo View Post

My guess is that Jim likes McDaniel's offensive concepts because he recognizes them. It builds on what he believes in. The greatest difference being the brevity of time the ball is in Herbert's hands on most or many plays. Route concepts and run plays are the same plus more deception and blocking techniques. I guess. It's still football. Looking forward to the seeing is believing part.Originally posted by Velo View Post

One thing I think I know: They intend to be effective on OL and that's basic Harball.

I agree about Jim evolving and not being stuck on one systemOriginally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post

Granted, two playoff games with 13 and 3 points - getting manhandled might get you to a certain point
But I am excited to see what McD does. I truly wouldn't mind just seeing him filmed like Hard Knocks thing - guy is a unique personality. Sharp though - smart guy

Strap in, baby, we are going to this offense like never before. And that’s saying a lot, cause we did witness Rivers with LT… I just feel the combo of McDaniels and Herbert will be just that much better.

Marty, Rivers, LT went 14-2 and Marty got fired. No telling how that might have gone.Originally posted by Bolts4ever213 View PostStrap in, baby, we are going to this offense like never before. McDaniel, Herbert, Hampton need to win in the playoffs. After which McDaniel probably takes a HC job elsewhere.
This is their best shot together. Let it end with a Lombardi Trophy.

What alternative did Jim have? Quit because they fired Roman?Originally posted by Velo View Post

I have another take instead of your halo effect.
Its WTH did he allow Roman to be hired and in charge of this offense for 2 years???

Yup. After the 2006 Chargers went 14-2, Dolphins hired Cam Cameron as HC.Originally posted by sonorajim View Post

Cam wasn’t known to scream, smash clipboards, and make grown men cry either.

Cam drafted Ted Ginn in the 1st round, and was fired after his first season as HC. Good times!Originally posted by Riverwalk View Post
