Kind of what I was getting at with the plane question

Just didn’t make sense
1. Philly ain’t gonna make a move until June 1, they didn’t wait this long just to get excited and splooge in their pants a couple days before a cap hit drops in half.
2. AJ isnt driving this train. Chargers don’t need to send a plane May 22 to talk a deal with PHI front office - They got phones and zoom screens
3. What is the point of sending a private jet to negotiate a trade at any time - is it gonna impress Howie Roseman? Lol …

I guess the theory could be they already got a deal and they want to go pick up AJ in style? Idunno - it just seems far fetched, especially 10 days before June.

Yeah, the concern is that he might not be available due to injuries. I have no expectations that he would fill a TE1 on the roster, more like a 'super-sub'

I suspect that TE use will be spread around. McD will I think not want a situation where if so-and-so is on the field, this is the play.
Njoku is very good near the end zone but OG and Kolar ain't chopped liver. Ideally, all 3 top TEs will get the ball and we can total it up after the SB.
My guess OG is 1, Njoku 2, Kolar 3 but not by a huge difference if all are healthy.

Me neither - I think he’s still in his prime window for several more years. We won’t know until we know - but I suspect efforts to evaluate him based on what he produced recently in CLE’s shitshow dysfunctional rotating scrub QB offense is a fool’s errand. You can’t measure the man from that situation.

Gadsden is going into his second season and looks like an ascending talent after a good rookie year. Njoku signed a one-year deal on May 11. If Njoku was expected to be ahead of Kolar on the depth chart, I think Njoku would have been signed before Kolar, not two weeks after the draft.

12 personnel with Gadsden and Njoku as receiving options will be a load for defenses. Kolar will contribute also but mainly with blocking I suspect. Kolar might have been signed before Njoku but I feel confident he will be 3rd in receptions in this group.

Here is my thinking when we talking about TE3.

I think Gads will start in the traditional inline TE. Kolar I think will be the TE in the 12 formation we will run often and they signed him 27 mil so he won't be standing on the sidelines. He will get plenty of snaps.

So I think of Njoku and Gadsden playing the same position at TE and either one can be split out if MM so desired to do that which he did with Jonnu Smith to get a LB matchup or a NB or safety matchup they might see on film.

Gadsden can be at TE1 next to the RT, Njoku can be split out or vice versa with Gadsden and Kolar next to the LT.

So when I say TE3, I really mean TE2 as regards to Gadsden. Kolar is going to play and be TE2 at his spot in the 12. He may also see some snaps at inline TE when we run the ball.

I am not well versed in MM schemes but at this time, this is how I see them being used. I just see Gads and Njoku rotating until DN gets dinged, which seems to happen often but I see Gads getting more snaps than him.

Good news is we have a nice 3 player TE room and they can all contribute.

12 personnel with Gadsden and Njoku as receiving options will be a load for defenses. Kolar will contribute also but mainly with blocking I suspect. Kolar might have been signed before Njoku but I feel confident he will be 3rd in receptions in this group.

We also have 3 UDFA rookie TEs. Bradley, Pascuzzi and Svoboda. I don't expect one to make the 53 cut but prac squad, one hopefully. Something to keep an eye on. Depth is good to have.
