There's one podcast that I think is Great! They come on after the games and usually do a show a week! They're the Bolt Crew!Originally posted by Boltjolt View Post
Is why I don't waste my time with podcasts.
Not affiliated with them, but they have been fans since the Chargers were in SD and they keep it real. Jefferson was on a show a few weeks ago and so was Jackson.
All the rest pretty much suck, but these three are good I like to listen to their takes after games. We just want to WIN! LoL

We will see, I have faith in Slaughter but don't think it is this automatic perfect thing. As Money said when he replaced Biadasz yesterday he had some good plays and some plays he really struggled with blocking and penalties.Originally posted by electricgold View PostScrew it! We lost Tyler boo hoo! We'll be fine!
Jake Slaughter is going to prove he was the best center in this draft, and going forward he's our starting future pro bowl center. Good job Hortiz for drafting this blue chip center! He'll do very well in MM's offense.

We have posters here who have been fans much longer than them. I just don't hear any more value from them that I get from here. And I don't need to listen to anything for 45 minutes lol. They are just fans like we are here and giving ideas just like us.Originally posted by electricgold View Post

Not sure why some here give them more credence. As you say, they aren't associated with the team.
Seems to me the many Charger podcasts say the same things and they all wanted to trade for Vita Vea as well, which imo was never going to happen.
I see player interviews elsewhere from our associated people and sometimes on McAfee or random places. I'm just not a sit and listen to podcasts type. I'm a skim thru the posted podcast type. Not into all the jibberish lol
Edit.....I thought.you were saying you thought GAC guys were great.
That YouTube link, those guys are eh.... the same as then all. 57 minutes of jibberish and things we already know and reading comments from people on their podcast. <YAWN>Last edited by Boltjolt; Yesterday, 06:25 PM.

At least the early indications are that Slaughter picks up stunts better than Boze...that's progress...Originally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post

Not necessarily...Spomer didn't look too bad at C vs. the Texans...Originally posted by powderblueboy
It really depends on the coaching as to the smooth/rough transition of Slaughter towards being a good NFL center.
Like Creed Humphrey and Zach Frazier, he has 3+ years of experience being the starting center in a major program.
Hell, Andy Reid was even able to successfully convert Mitch Morse from college OT to center as an NFL rookie.
So much depends on the coaching staff,
If Slaughter goes, say goodbye to any deep playoff runs.

If we do sign a vet C, I don't want a third-rate dumpster dive special...it may be better to roll with rooks like Slaughter and Spomer...Originally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post
The loss of Biadasz will really hurt. He was expected to be the stabilizing force in the middle of the line, which btw has shown signs of being pretty leaky still in a lot of practices, including yesterday against the 49ers.
Slaughter could do ok at his natural position but he is a rookie and its not like we have premium guards beside him to make it easier.
We end up going into this season once again with major questions at interior offensive line.
At guard I have to point out that we went into last season with Zion Johnson and Mekhi Becton at guard and we all felt pretty good about that. Of course it turned out to be a disaster on the field. One that had to be fixed this off season. But to be really honest, does Kayode Awosika and Cole Strange look any better on paper?
I realize there will be better coaching and MM can help Herbert avoid pressure with play design but that is not the whole solution on having a good offensive line.
I don't mean to be pessimistic but some reality is hitting me today. Due to bad luck with Biadasz and bargain shopping at guard, we go into year 3 of Harbaugh once again holding our breath about pressure on Herbert from the interior. We have the OC and the weapons now, for once I would just like to see optimal Justin Herbert without being held back every year by the offensive line.
I think Hortiz needs to get on the phone for veteran help. If Slaughter gets hurt, or really struggles you have a small UDFA rookie center as your next option.
