"You don't need my analysis" Finally! We agree!

"Simply watch the plays for yourself." Done. Refer to all my prior comments about Greg Roman. Which were recently mirrored by an actual MVP QB.

Here's to hoping Greg Roman can coach up a better passing game - either developing the players or designing the routes and calling (adapting) those plays.

just a thought...bring in Kurt as passing game coordinator. so he can tell GRo how idiotic these pass concepts are. as long as we are improving, and we are, I'm good with GRo.

Watching the tape, it's pretty obvious that G. Roman has designed routes that create space and leverage for receivers. The increase in Herbert's recent numbers are a pretty good indicator of that fact... Herbie's QB rating has never been higher. Marcus Brady and Marc Trestman probably deserve a lot of the shared praise.

Harbaugh/Roman told us all how important the run game would be for the passing game.
Now that we see it with our own eyes... we still don't believe it.

MaHommes was right... "I'll see it when I believe it". LOL!

Run the ball, protect the quarterback, and play defense.
              It's not rocket science.

Herbert has had a bad line and ZERO speed at WR for years, and I believe he's stopped looking deep. He knows he doesn't have the time and needs to keep the chains moving. Add to that he's never had a consistent run game, and everything has been put on him, so the 3-5 yard plays keep things positive. The issue Warner and others are having is that there are not many layups in this offense and too few 4 wr sets. Layups are designed to get QB in rhythm/confidence and to be an extension of the run game.

The dirty little secret about the Chargers this year is that the run game is still bad. Yes, JK has a few late-game pops, but as far as establishing an actual run game where we get 3-5, no matter the defense, it's just not there yet. Roman/Harbough will remain committed and put Justin in TOO MANY long third downs.

So we are back to where we've always been. Justin bail us out!

Putting aside our football differences, I still chuckle at this Mahomes quote.

This is all correct. I'm surprised when I hear people think we've got a good run game. Maybe comparatively to prior years?

Well yes, compared to the last few years. Our run game isn't great but it works, have broken off some big runs and teams have to account for it. We are 18th in rushing and 20th in YPC which isn't awful but much better than before.
It's only going to improve in the coming years but are we supposed to apologize for having Herbert "bail us out"? I think the run game we have still helps him.

I just don't get the chronic complainers. How can anyone be negative being 7-3? A couple or few years ago you were complaining you didn't want to see Herbert running when he was slicing up Pittsburghs defense with his legs. Just taking what they give him.
The injuries he has got these last couple years are from being in the pocket throwing. Even the ankle this year is from being sacked in the pocket.

We aren't winning a SB this year but we should be a player to get there and this will be our worst team for some time.

Sure we aren't what we want to be in year one but it's looks pretty positive and could be worse.
Campbells first year in a Detroit he won 1 friggin game. We are miles ahead of that. Look at Telescos first season in LV.
