Welcome aboard! can't wait to see a competent run game, just don't want to see Herbert running the ball like Josh Allen or anything like that but yeah, it'll be exciting to have a legit run game to go along with Herbert's down the field prowess...to be fair to Roman, he's never had a QB like herbert that will allow him to open up the offense in all phases...

maybe he was maximizing the talent he had in prior situations.... maybe with a great QB, he will emphasize the run but will use Herbert to play action and strike DEEP for quick explosive scores!!!

I wanted Engstrand as OC with Roman as TE/Run game coordinator. It is what it is.

I'll go on record as hating this pick. I saw why he was let go by Harbaugh in Baltimore. Do we need to improve the running game? Of course. But we also need to improve the passing game (something he had trouble doing well and why he was let go with the Ravens). I'll hope for the best, but am prepared (again) for a guy who can't create & scheme his way out of a cover-0 defense.

Harbaugh is not Coryell and his teams have leaned on the run. Yet he's said Herbert is the key and that he needs to be his best to serve Herbert. Not sure this is consistent with that message. But in Jim we trust now. We're all in with Jim.

As for the Ravens, their passing game improved with the addition of Zay Flowers and others.
