What are the things a GOOD GM should anticipate? accuratly injuries that occur

Should a good GM be able to accuratly predict injuries that occur between OTA's and the start of the season?

Should a good GM have clarivoyance? Predict injuries to players with injury history? Predict injuries to the deepest positions on the team?

How about how fringe players will fit/ not fit his scheem?

How about when to lie and when not to lie.

Who to lie to or not to lie to?

After reading this board over the past few weeks, this is an easy one - just do the opposite of what TT has done!

A good GM would be named AJ Smith and would have hired Norv Turner for continuity.

A good GM drafts well and stacks his team 2-3 deep. It eliminates the need for predicting what injuries occur at a certain position. Its something that usually takes more than one draft. I would ask for 2-3 if i were a new GM trying to build a team that not only needs new starters but also quality depth at nearly every position.

While your at it.... Maybe the Good GM should ask to inherent a team that is "almost" in the 2-3 deep scenario thus making it easier to "get there". In fact, the good GM really only got the job because the former guy either (A) moved on becasue the job was too easy, (B) Died while in said position (C) Was forced to resign because he was amigos with Bob Filner or (D) The Good GM had dirt on the owner.

Point being, MOST new GM's don't inherant a team in "good shape"... Hell AJ recieved a team in outstanding shape because of answer B above and after a few years into it, the formers guys people were dwindling away and look where we are now.

                Weird.

:umno: Butler had 1 draft that brought LT & Brees and 1 FA period that brought Doug Flutie, Tim Dwight, David Buston and Marcellus WhyMe. Seau and Harrison were notable leftovers Butler inherited. Not sure why you think AJ inherited a stocked team from that?

Don't forget Jamal Williams. Butlers had two drafts, LT, Brees, Jammer were notable picks. AJ's first draft wasn't very good, but he kicked ass from 2004-2006, especially 2004 and 2005 and that laid the foundation for the great run. It didn't happen overnight, it took a number of drafts. Telesco probably, maybe needs more than one offseason?
