Benjamin is clearly contact-averse. Love the speed and the ability, but he doesn't have elite level hands and the lack of toughness is a big red flag. Fixable, but he has to decide if he's a football player.

Benjamin just has to maximize what he is good at; speed, speed, good hands, big play capable and he will contribute

The problem with all of our returners is that they all have horrible decision making abilities.

For "some reasons", they're only horrible with us, this season. They weren't having those poor reputation in TEN and CLE. The coaches must have doing something really wrong in talking with them and mentally prepare them.

Another week where we have big special team blunders:

Week 1 @Chiefs - Kaser 17 yard punt | Lambo missed FG (54 yards)
Week 2 vs Jaguars - None?
Week 3 @ Colts - Palepoi leverage penalty on FG, which leads to Indy TD | Lambo PAT blocked | Benjamin muffed punt (leading to Verrett's knee injury?)
Week 4 vs Saints - None?
Week 5 @ Raiders - Kaser 16 yard punt | Kaser muffed FG attempt
Week 6 vs Broncos - Benjamin muffed punt | Wiggins muffed free kick | Denver onside kick recovery
Week 7 @ Falcons - Whalen muffed kickoff at 8 yard line
Week 8 @ Denver - Lambo missed FG (45 yards) | Lambo PAT blocked

And yet Craig Aukerman still has a job. Looked at his bio on Chargers.com and this is his first time as the special teams coach anywhere. He was an assistant here for 3 years. Our special teams sucked when he was an assistant - not sure anything during that time warranted a promotion. And it shows...

Heard Michael Lombardi on Simmons podcast a couple weeks ago, and he was talking about New England.
(He worked there as a consultant or something like that the past 2 years).

Said Belichick makes a point that Kickoff/punt coverage sets the tone for the team. That they HAVE to cover well. They won't allow mistakes in that aspect.

-I thought about it a bit, and I'm not sure I remember New England giving up a big return that hurts them (especially in Big games). Just something I found interesting.

Another missed extra point for Lambo. That's 3 on the season and it almost came back to haunt him. Does this kid have a focus problem or what?

I noticed we had 2 guys back on an early punt. Only noticed it that 1 time. Burse looked ok back there I guess, better than Benjamin and McCluster for sure.

2 of the 3 missed extra points were blocked/deflected. Yesterday was his only miss.
