They are trying to avoid another Mike Williams situation where the team gets nothing in return for assets. Next year if Bosa stays on the field and with a better defense he’ll have more trade value. Also, Mack and Keenan will hit free agency and it will net the team some compensatory picks as opposed to just releasing them and creating a bunch of holes on the roster.
