if Houston wanted the Chargers 4th for Houstons 4th - I think I do that deal - even to the AFC as that would have been a net 120 points and the Bears is worth 111

If Houston wanteed the Chargers 4th for a Houston 5th or later - -no way - send him to the Bears

Kind of still holding out hope he is traded to the Niners with a lower cap number
He's a guy we can't count on at all. Has not been productive the past 2 years. I put him in the MW category. Like the player when healthy but just can't expect that to happen. Everybody understood when Mike was released.

Yeah sounds like an "optics" decision as well. They didn't want to see Stroud/Keenan connect next season as it'll put them in the hot seat with the fans.

That said, I think they're overlooking how much we love Keenan. If they gave him his wish to a good team that Keenan chose, the fanbase would've respected that far more.

Like I said earlier, the crappy thing is at the end of next season Keenan can still choose the Texans as he's an UFA and we not get the draft capital out of it.

Chargers are getting draft capital from Keenan Allen - a 4th round pick this year when the best they would get is a 5th round comp pick in 2026. Chargers made the best deal possible to maximize Allens value.

Say he does sign with Houston next year, the best the Bears will get is a 5th round comp pick in 2026

            Good for him

            Good for the Chargers
I don't fault him for not wanting to take pay cut. That said, I don't blame the Chargers for trading him to the Bears, where he is being reunited with his 2021-2023 receiver's coach here.

Hortiz did a great job digging us out of Telesco's hole.

I would have taken the draft pick and moved to another players once they brought back Mack. Mack, Tuli and a guy like Van Noy - pretty stout Edge depth if you can use funds from Bosa to get other players. The deal is not official on OTC so I have hopes things are still being manipulated for the Niners - I know long shot.

I would've taken the Texan's 3rd this year in a loaded draft for Keenan honestly.

Which means he was leaving after this year anyways and LAC got a 4th, whereas they would have gotten nothing at the end of the year.

If the GAC people are correc t- it was actually a 2025 3rd round pick from the Texans

If thats true - no doubter to take the Bears pick this year.

EDIT; Listened a little bit more to the GAC guys, Haglund and Schoon - they are not happy about it. Schoon tried to say Allen restructured once and didn't have to do it again, thats within his rights. It true he restructured but he didn't take a pay cut

My guess: If Allen would have been paid his $23m -no matter how the numbers worked - he would be a Charger. They wanted a true pay cut

How do you get that? Based on OTC the AAV of contracts are taken into consideration and Allen even at worst is
                        a 15-20 year AAV player. He’s a 4th at worst and a 3rd at best.

He put up amazing numbers in 12 games and could have played more if the team wasn’t so bad. He’s a consummate professional that proved he still has it and the new brass gives him the FU. What sort of message does that send to the locker room? Not the sort of team first message we thought Harbaugh would bring, more of the authoritarian corporate attitude that people hate working for. Great start….
