The protection for Rivers has been much better than anticipated after 3 games, and only seems to be a small issue and one of many in these losses. Rivers' decision-making was highly questionable today, and he made rookie mistakes that Lynn and Whiz depend on him not to make. No more forcing the ball. If there is noone open downfield, he has to throw the ball away or go to the checkdown. That's all there is to it. No doubt Rivers is a huge part of this team and is needed to win, but this team isn't good enough to overcome his poor plays.

The protection is not as good as the stats suggest. Rivers has still not had the room he needs to step into a lot of passes, and quite a few of his bad misses are him not stepping into his throw, or having to step around players, so he is not square to the throw.
As far as the int's go, he was not being very accurate, but Benjamin and Williams both didn't do a lot to help him on 2 of the int. Benjamin kept running and even maybe making a bit closer to the sideline, while the defender retained the position on him. Benjamin made no effort to come back to the ball, which is a knock he has had since we got him in FA last year. Williams rounded off the out that he was running allowing Mitchell to undercut the route. Neither was a good throw, but WR needs to give their QB some help and try and play a little defense to prevent int from time to time.
The peters int was just not a good throw, so that seems like it is mostly on Rivers.

Rivers had a terrible game today for sure. He's going to be kicking himself for some of those throws. But he also had us in position for a game kicking fg and game tying fg two weeks in a row. Say we go to OT and lose, win the Miami game.. I think the issue here is just.. Rivers had a lousy game today.

we've heard Rivers talk in postgame interviews in the past after poor games where he has said that he has to make better decisions and better throws. We know that he knows better than to play like he did today, but he continues to revert back to having stinkers like today.
