I think Gates is a key to success next year (along with resigning Ingram).

Mehhh... not sure about that? Pretty bold statement when we have so many issues. When I think keys to success and the current SD Chargers, Gates is merely a reliable vet luxury.

I agree and, in a way, Gates has been a liability at times this year. We've all seen Rivers try to force the ball to Gates. He wants him to have that record and its playing into his decision making at times, and making him predictable in the red zone and on 3rd down. This combined with taking snaps from Henry and stunting his growth are tell tale signs. I'll miss him and he's been a great Charger, but it is time to move on.
