Personally, I've found that age and drinking habits permit me to indulge in spirits when the mood strikes me. Which is rather infrequently. The plus side being that an expensive bottle lasts a few years.

I have 3-4 ozs of red wine after dinner, the taste of which I don't particularly enjoy but they say it's good for you and I find it relaxing. I indulge my fondness for sour mash bourbon in small quantities when i"m in rare good humor about myself for blessed reason.
Damn. I'd like to have a couple of ounces of small batch bourbon on the rocks every evening. The WHO now says even low-level consumption of alcohol is associated with a host of maladies. The younger generations are drinking less, and that is hurting the spirits industry. The wine industry is shrinking globally.

I'm surprised to hear that about the wine industry. It seems that wineries have sprouted up all along California's coast from Santa Y ez to Paso Robles and of course Napa

Apparently flooding the market tends to reduce profits. Who'd a thunk it?

Yes, Stick did showed regression in preseason, but given Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman recently came out and said they will have specific game plans for each Quarterback (Herbert, Heneike, Stick), it may have been plausible that JH on purpose had Stick play like Herbert in preseason. Play with Herbert's throwing style, motion, movements. Think like JH, "play" in his style NOT for the benefit of Stick, but for the benefit of the other 10 players who will be playing with Herbert! Give them practice with a Justin Herbert "look alike," and "play alike" so that when the season starts with Justin Herbert, they will have been used to Herbert's style in the NEW OFFENSE. Makes sense to me...what do you think?

Hence, they kept Stick knowing he will play well using HIS own style if he's ever needed.

If so, IT'S SMART COACHING. Sacrifice one dude's stats for the rest of the offense who will be working with the starter anyway. Hit the ground running.

Meanwhile, arm chair coaches like you and me were not understanding but rather critical of one man. Yet, there is a man with a greater plan.
Is this what you think? Lol, id bet they rather him compete some passes. Which is why they got another QB in a trade because he didn't.

You thinking they changed his throwing motion and everything to look like Herbert is nuts.

You also can't duplicate 6'6" and his rocket arm. Crazy talk!!

It's hard to separate the WHO from their political and financial agenda. If I have a question regards health, I ask my doctor. I have a guy I trust and see him twice a year. He recommends not drinking. but isn't worried about the small amount that I actually consume. I'm 79 and have some issues but the major organs are surprisingly good no thanks to my past. My biggie was I quit smoking. Pack a day average from age 15 to age 45. That was tough but I did it. My dad died of emphysema complications at age 65. I knew a bunch of parents who died of lung cancer or emphysema. A BUNCH.A couple of them were alcoholics too which I'm sure didn't help. One was an alcoholic, smoker, gambling addict who died in a Mexican prison. That had to be rough.
To be safe, to be sure don't smoke or use alcohol. But if you must, keep it to a low roar. If you can't do that, quit or die a horrible death. Best wishes.

I save my infrequent shots for major work related successes, which are shared by my staff (in an after hours setting of course). . . . . . . . . . We've got a considerable store of all kinds of alcoholic beverages in a cabinet at work. It keeps expanding because we cannot begin to consume even a small fraction of the 'gifts' my company receives every holiday . . . . . . . . it's either See's candy or bottles of booze - most of it good stuff . . . . . . . . . . so, we get to choose to become either diabetics or alcoholics

Okay, so here's the "THIS time, we really mean it!" final edition of the practice squad to start the 2024 season.

Chargers officially set 17-player practice squad after flurry of moves (msn.com)

Interesting that the 17 man PS includes:

THREE tight ends-- Luke Benson, Tucker Fisk and Eric Tomlinson.

FIVE Front Seven Defenders-- Tre'Mon Morris-Brash, Andrew Farmer, Christopher Hinton, C.J. Okoye, and Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste.
