I said that last week….funny how herbie will play at 70% and Bosa won’t at 98%.
we need to start a Tread of who will not be back next year;
1. Bosa - we get nothing in return.
2. Derwin - possibly a 3rd rd pick?
The Bolts do have outs on both Bosa and Derwin's deals after this season. They'd have to eat some dead cap $$$, but I guess better to cut yer losses than keep paying top dollar for not much production in Joey's case. At least they've gotten more games out of James lately...

I'm expecting James to be back and Bosa gone. With Mack on his last year, adding 2 edge rushers is going to be a big need next offseason.
They have an out on Derwin's contract in 2025. It will cost some dead cap, but Hortiz should cut ties with Derwin. He's a liability. His coverage skills are subpar, his best asset is drawing personal foul penalties. He's not a playmaker. He doesn't get interceptions, he doesn't force turnovers. His production can be replaced by a journeyman safety earning a third of Derwin's salary.

Hortiz should take the out in Derwin's contract, absorb the dead cap and send Derwin on his way. There is not one thing Derwin is really good at, outside of drawing personal foul penalties.

Listening to a few interviews where Minter raved about him and his versatility, Harbaugh singling him out for praise makes me think he'll be back.

They raved about Bosa, they raved about Derwin, they raved about Herbert, they raved about Keenan, they raved about Mack. We'll see who they're raving about at the end of the year
Just what is it that Derwin James does well that makes you think he is worth keeping?
I said the Minter and Harbaugh have both gone out of their way to single him out and praise him - hence the comment about why I think he will be back. Obviously your and my opinions won't factor into that decision.
