I cant assume he was doing anything more than sticking up for his guys that had the worst showing. Wait for roster moves, we’ll know when we know and not until then. He is currently an unsigned FA.

I would agree with this. Just speaking up for a guy who played the most snaps of anybody on the offense - maybe the team.

But in a few weeks - they will all convene, talk about the year, watch the tape and probably make the same assessments a lot of fans made about the team

OG, C, TE, WR - must haves on offense

Edge, figure out DT with the free agents, LB - figure out if Colson can take the leap, Perryman is probably not the answer and of course CB

These are some outside FA's not including Charger's own that I would look at:

1) Aaron Jones RB- 2yr/14mil
2) Kevin Zeitler OG- 1 yr prove it deal
3) Ryan Kelly OC- 1 yr prove it deal
4) Keenan Allen Wr- 1-2 yr deal. Think that ship has sailed but if he's interested, maybe.

There are probably a few more I will add later. Get these guys on prove it deals until you hit in the draft. Some of the other more expensive FA I would look at are Higgins, Sweat, Bolton, and pick your favorite OG..lol. Get maybe one top tier FA and then sprinkle in a few prove it type vets.

I like those except not KA who would fill Ladds role...... Chargers need to add a a big fast outside or all around WR who is also a deep threat. KA is not a deep threat...he is a possession guy.

Plus I think Aaron Jones is too old
Give the money to Dobbins and find a younger, FASTER, player as a change of pace back.

I'm not sure if I like the idea of signing another RB other than JK. If he doesn't sign, then just draft one. I really don't like the RB FA class this year.

Like I said I think that ship has sailed. I think there is a higher probability that the Chargers would trade/sign one over bringing back KA.

@WR you've got Ladd, QJ, maybe Simi, Rice and then Derius.... not sure if there is anyone worth spending for in FA, and.... seems like there are two needs.... to upgrade/spell/hedge against your oversized MW replacement wideout, and to have someone that can spell McConkey for the if and when he goes down, and can spell Derius on returns for the if and when he may be unavailable.

some of you want to spend a day one or two pick on WR.... Burden, Egbuka, Golden, Tre Harris, Bond, Ayomanor, Restrepo, Savion, Jalen Royals, Higgins ??

and if you do select one of those guys, not only are you gonna put QJ on the pine, 'specially in 12 personnel, but you are gonna leave your DT, ED and OG on the board.... is that JH2 football ??

very much looking forward to seeing if Alt before Nabers was an outlier, or if that is the new defacto default ??

funny that you say that, coz have prolly got so used to/accustomed to life w/team Tommy John, and that it would just be a given that QJ would be starting opposite Ladd for the duration of his contract.... for two more years, and....

don't think they would/will pick up his fifth year option, but really haven't given much thought to them moving on from Quentin.... could they ?? rea!!y ??

Agree - I didnt watch him play hardly at all this yr but most reports were he looked a step slower this year. he wasnt fast when he left. his wily crafty ability will likely still be able to get underneath separation, though his gaps will be tighter, just as we saw Herbert lasering into before he left.

but he doesnt bring a vertical threat we should be looking for.

Last week, I mentioned Hollywood Brown - just for the speed. And not as the starting WR opposite Ladd - but as WR 3 - vertical threat. Not sure the cost of course
