This makes a helluva lot of sense. Release Bosa, let Mack walk and you still have plenty of money for Sweat
This would be my option 1 - though the Popper trade - I would have to think about that one

No Slater or Tuli, thats off the table.

Yeah, this is what I suggested before. Just sign Sweat and add other FA's. I'm not in the trading draft picks group. If Garrett was younger than yeah, I would be all over it but he's not.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

I mean, if that were truly the offer - Chargers would have to think long and hard about that. Really just giving up a 3rd round pick as Garrett for the 22nd - you could only hope that the rookie for the next four years produces like Garrett or close to it.
I can almost promise you Browns are not taking Bosa. I don't think they have the cap space for him this year.

Exactly. Bosa is purely inconsequential. So Poppers idea of a 1st and 3rd for Garrett - I don't think thats an overpay at all.

You just have to value Garrett for four years and compare to how a first round pick would do. If that first round pick is Zion or QJ and the third round pick is JT Woods or Craig Mager - its a slam dunk trade.

Granted, realize you are trading 3 to 4 years of Garrett for possibly 8 years of TJ Watt

The problem is Garrett is not under contract for 4 years, only 2. And if we got Alt and Henley level talent for those picks, it would be better to keep the picks, and use the extra cap space from Garrett's contract to sign additional free agents to fill more holes.

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have Garrett as a Charger. But it will be at the expense of multiple other positions.

Sign Trey Smith and Josh Sweat or Higgins and Sweat and go from there. There will also be some cuts before March 1st. Many options available for the Chargers.

to get value you have to give up value.
If there's any player of value I would consider trading it's Slater because we have Alt--we can move him to LT and find a RT much more easily than a dominant passrusher.
I think Slater is a HUGE chip to offer that other teams can't.
Slater and not much more should do it imo.
Nobody trades a young All pro LT. Everybody is looking for one.
The Jags very first player they ever drafted was a LT.

I think you guys over value Tuli but that's ok.

No way Slater is getting traded.

Adding MG (ONE DUDE) puts us in SB contenion.

How many superbowls did Bosa help us win? All these expensive players other than QB are team wreckers...
I agree because we are not just one key player away. And I don't mind trading Bosa as part of a package but the Tuli and Slater talk is just ridiculous talk. Bosa is likely gone anyways but why trade our other young players and create other holes?

                      Just mind boggling.

I am probably a no on the Myles Garrett trade - I don't think Poppers trade will be close to actual value.

We are never just one player away from competing unless it's a High Quality QB. Just think we signed like 6 defenders drafted a couple more plus just having Bosa and mack play good football. Salvage Henley from Goober brains doghouse with Minter's guidance and we looked like an entirely different defense. One guy aint gonna win us that much more on defense.
