Why not to take advantage of a team in bad situation? I mean Browns
Trade for David Njoku 28 years old, in contact year this year we could offer him 3 years deal (out after 2).
We receive a proven TE at the cost of 3rd or 4th pick. We could easily draft DT then at 22.

older and coming off a torn achilles injury, and which could drop him into day three/round five ??

susceptible to twists ?? play strength/anchor questioned by some.... played poorly against Oregon.

displaced by DeBoer/Wash transfer @Alabama, recruited by Harbaugh.... locker room guy, unquestioned leader of Oline, proper mental makeup/mindset, has desired physicality aspect.

coming off injury, some suspect 2025 would be a redshirt season.... a more athletic Bradley Bozeman is his compare, and could be our BB replacement come the '026 ??

graduated summa cum laude from 'Bama, getting bachelors and masters before transferring to OSU.... whew !!
You outline exactly why we should draft McLaughlin.

Bleacher Report's Brandon Thorn, who watches more offensive line film tham anyone, gives McLaughlin a round 3 grade.

I would seriously consider him at round 4.

My first runnerup ATM is Jake Majors at round 4 comp pick

Most of the other centers are Wide Zone types, with lack of sand in pants.

This leads to consideration of drafting "conversions" or more appropriately, those with position flexibility.
      We play modern Harball.

Who is out there and who is worth having mostly IMV are IOL with injury issues. Seth McLaughlin, Josh Myers and Will Fries.

Most of the rest are not worth long term investment.

A torn achilles or bruised ligaments or a broken tibia are not the end of the world, with adequate recovery time.

        Use our working capital wisely.

“Drew Dalman earned a 78.8 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, which ranked No. 4 among centers. He was a stout run blocker, slotting in fifth overall at his position with a 79.8 grade, while his 66.6 pass protection grade put him at No. 21 out of 64 qualified centers.

Across 554 snaps, the Salinas, Calif., native allowed two sacks and committed three penalties. Dalman thinks he still has room to improve.”

Drew Dalman has started each of his last 40 appearances at center for the Atlanta Falcons, but he will be an unrestricted free agent this spring.

Stanford guy. 26 years old. And I’m not a big PFF guy, but I’ve not seen too much negativity on him out there…

I kinda thought Hampton could be an option in round 1 but then I did a deep dive in the RB class….
No way I’d take a RB in round 1, except for Jeanty and I would have serious reservations taking him that high.
This is an ultra talent laden class for RB and there are 5 other RBs equally as talented as Hampton.

But this is a really good D line draft. So let’s get 2 players in the top 2 rounds and become similar to PHIL’s defense. We’re close right now…
indicators and evidence say that top DL players are better than top IOL players in this draft, I agree with the diagnosis and therefore the prescription, good doctor.

Everyone agrees we need 2 or 3 IOL players, nobody is talking about that we need DL players too. Our only decent IDL players last year are FAs. We literally do not have them today. Bosa needs to be cut for the money and nobody knows what Mack is going to want.

AND … top edge players and top IDL players are worth more than top OGs or OCs. Moneyball team cap management 101 = Sign good players at the least expensive positions, draft good players at the most expensive spots. Teams that fail to heed this formula end up in cap hell and then whine about “how did we get here?”.

Dalman or Kelly, Becton, Adams and Edge. Higgins would be good too,

Tannenbaum on ESPN Get Up thought Deebo to the Chargers made sense - -have no idea what he is talking about. Higgins makes sense - not Deebo

bring back Ford, Molden, Tart or Fox and Dobbins

Fill in with a few vet minimums

Going into the season with JK Dobbins and [insert 3rd-5th round RB name here] is not wise IMO.
More than anything, Harbaugh/Roman need to get the running game going.
We were lucky Dobbins only missed several games. This league is hard. This league is brutal on RB's.
                  Don't get caught flat-footed without a bell-cow Game 4 into the season.

If Kenneth Grant is available @#22... I get that. I think he's gone by 22. After Graham and Grant there is a big drop-off IMO.
Converting an OT to an OG or OC is trendy now. But also very Lamp-esque. Did Joe ever do that in Baltimore...?
If Warren or Loveland are there @#22... that's probably what I'd do. But, they'll probably be gone by then.
I get wanting a pass rusher @#22... definite need. But are any of the pass rushers better than a#1RB @#22...?
Are the late 1st-round pass rushers really so much better than the 3rd round pass-rushers...?

If you are simply looking @draft position projection and size/weight (Sanders/Gordon/Mafah/Martinez...) and looking past run-style, contact-balance... then you and I are not looking at the same thing. Those 3rd-5th round RB's are projected there for a reason. They are guys that can spell Dobbins and lighten the load. But if Dobbins goes down (history) they can't shoulder the load that Harbaugh/Roman need them to.

Anyhow, drafting guys that can tackle has been an afterthought here IMO. Way down the list of desirable traits. And probably the reason Asante Samuel is out of here.
I’ve mentioned this before. The CBA restrictions the last 10+ years prevent teams from improving much in tackling. Coaches can’t “develop” tackling skill anymore. Teams are for all practical purposes are prohibited from running any tackling drills or practice. As a result - We don’t see NFL defenders improve their tackling like generations of yore anymore. Smart GMs pay attention to how well defenders tackle when they pick them because they aren’t likely to get better at it later.

TT never paid attention to it, based on how many Chargers couldn’t tackle for shit

One season of observation - Joe either got really lucky or he realizes this very well.

No to Deebo. No to Hill. The only receiver I would consider who is older is Devante Adams and that’s only after the NYJ release him to save that 29 MIL. Then you could get a Pat Bryant in the draft and have a really solid WR group. Higgins would be ideal..

Yes. Bringing all those guys back is a must.
