I just want the team to get better - end of the day. Get better.

Now, again, having a pure Edge rusher, like the Rams struck gold with Verse - team needs that. My guess, even though Harbaugh talked of bringing the team back just after the Texans game - they will review the film, be honest and move forward. If they bring back Mack, I trust Hortiz. But Mack not coming back doesn't mean the defense will take a step back.

Grant's talent level, added to his playing DT-- a position where the Bolts could absolutely use some starpower-- make him a guy who belongs in the conversation.

Edge x 2 because even if you keep Mack, which I am torn on, Dupree is a FA and Mack probably has one year left
OG - unless they go young like Becton but even so Zion is iffy
Center
RB
WR - even if they sign Higgins or get Adams
TE
DT
Its a process. The NFL is not the NBA where a couple stars are the key. Need solid players across both offense and defense
I am good staying at 22 but I think trading back makes more sense - especially based on mock drafts that have both TEs gone
He has another year on contract

I like Grant alot...but I cant stomach another year of Herberts career going to waste on a pedestrian offense. If we have a miracle FA period that sees upgrades at IOL and either TE or X receiver, plus Edge...then I could get behind a DT with #22...even though we dont even need one...but if you solve multiple issues in free agency, you can afford BPA regardless of position, and Grant might fit the bill...and sure as hell doubt Harbaugh and Minter want to pass on him...but again...gotta see some holes filled in free agency, mainly IOL...but Im not holding my breath on that one...would love to be wrong...have to wait n see...Lone Bolt's Final Mock
Tyler Booker G, Josaiah Stewart Edge, Cam Skattebo RB, Mitchell Evans TE, Jamaree Caldwell NT, Isaac TeSlaa WR, Ahmed Hassanein DE, Craig Woodson S, Eli Cox C, Kalel Mullings RB
Sleeper day 3 pick: Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech

I've been staying out of the draft/prospect/mock threads to this point, because there's still too much to "come out in the wash", as the saying goes.
A month before the draft? I'm goin' in!

Concur that Herb's health is more important than anything else. I'd be surprised if Joe Hortiz doesn't find two solid IOL in free agency, pre-draft. That in itself would push the urgency of drafting IOL down to Day 2.
I at least mildly disagree with you about needing a DT. It's not a desperate need, because Poona Ford and Teair Tart were a solid pair of Fat Boys. But neither is close to a "difference maker", and getting one of those on the D-line would be an enormous boost.
