I think a lot of what happens with the draft will make more sense post free-agency. But I am still of the opinion I want MORE picks on Day 2 and less so that means trading back

Joe's got this, you might not agree with all the moves he makes but I feel comfortable predicting that he's going to make the Chargers one of the top ten rosters in the NFL in 2025 and one of the top 5 rosters in 2026...so sit back and enjoy the process, this guy put on a masterclass in season one and he's just warming up...it's okay to worry less is all I'm saying..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. So let’s take this a step further.
Let’s say indeed that Warren-Loveland and Jeanty-Hampton are gone by pick 22.
Loeland goes to DEN and PIT takes Hampton one spot in front of us.
Then Yeah, you might as well hope you can trade back…

Calm down. We’re simply discussing the draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs targeted Patrick Mahomes as their quarterback of the future and paid heavily to move up and snag the big-armed passer. K.C. traded the No. 27 overall pick, a third-round pick and their 2018 first-round selection to the Buffalo Bills to move up to No. 10 to select Mahomes.
What Joe did last year in round 2 would seem like a much more likely scenario to repeat itself, why? because moving up from the mid 50s to the late 30 only costs a day three pick compared to the ridiculous amounts of draft capital needed to move in round #1...I would expect any trade up to happen in round 2 if Hortiz wants a guy that he knows won't make it to pick #54"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. I am just throwing this out there because there seems to be a consensus forming that after the top 2 players at these 2 positions, there’s a pretty big drop off to the 3rd player at these positions. They are not on the same level.

I bet if I spend hours after watching the Shrine bowl coverage again and the Senior bowl coverage again and the combine coverage once that happens, I bet I can get to about 8-10 guys in my cluster that I'd be happy with at #22...I think we're in a great spot to come away with a really good CB, Edge, or IDL player if all the guys in your cluster are gone...
You're telling me that I'm being goofy and you continue to write these dire consequence type posts...the Chargers are not going to need to hope for shit okay, Hortiz is going to get us a great player at #22, it just might not be a player that you think is worth that pick...until the season starts and you see him play and then you'll just forget about whatever hyperbolic negative reaction you had on draft day"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Now if you tell me the Chargers get Higgins and Dalman plus a RG like Zeitler or they get Adams, Dalman and Becton - I might be a bit more open to move draft capital to move up as theoretically, two of the positions filled are longer term solutions.
But I don't think the Chargers should go into pick 22 NEEDING either RB or TE. They could also use Edge or DT.
