I think Tannenbaum is trying to sell tickets and make headlines. Fine, but I don't think it happens
People seem to think:
1). We have a ton of cap space we can just blow it on the top echelon guys
2). Bosa (probably) leaving. I thin he is a fine situational guy still, but we got our production off of having 4 guys coming in waves, and Tuli needs to get more time on the field.
3). Mack maybe leaving (or at least slowing down) that someone like Garrett get us that elite level guy.
OK, If you are just looking at it that way, find. Garrett fits. Most of our front office guys come from Baltimore who likes to have waves of pass rusher.
Tuli and Dupree are good fits as part of the Edge foursome. If we can resign Mack, then we only need one guy, and given the age and abilities, it looks like adding a rookie is the way to go. Dupree still have really good speed off the edge, even though overall he is not that great a rusher. But he is a fine 4th guy. I would like to add someone who adds more speed than Tuli, Mack and Bosa, who are all fine rushers, but left us with times where chasing down QB who broke the pocket was a problem.
There are also some other vets who are being cut, who might be a good fit. Preston Smith was cut by Pitt a couple days ago. I don't want him as a every down guy, but he is a good fit as part of a deep rotation who can slide inside some. Not necessarily the speed guys, but OK. But I wouldn't pay a ton for any of them.

They keep saying "D" wins championships so I would start w/ that foundation.
1. D can help the O get MORE chances to score via
a) turnovers
b) stopping on downs consistently.
We saw how the D LINE was paramount vs a usually potent offense in the last SB.
* 1. Draft Interior Linemen. Stud Dline must command double teams. Imagine having 2 starting ones that command double teams! Makes life easier for the Edge
* 2. Edge. Part of the DLine
The DLine stops RUN and PASS
That''s 4 players. A MUST. Have strong backups.
Linebackers - Stops RUN and PASS
Secondary - Stops PASS only (primarily)
Offense:
* 1. Stud QB
* 2. O Line: Get 5 studs! (Eagles went BIG, and the Chiefs went home). Go big or go home!
They handle RUN and PASS
That's 6 players. A MUST. Have strong backups.
* = Draft/Free agency/both
So for a total of 10 players out of 22 (with strong backups for the 10, you will have a strong winning foundation). Football is a TRENCHES game. TRENCHES win championships.
How many possessions did the Eagles keep with their Tush Push with the LARGEST offensive Linemen known to man since the beginning of football.
All about opportunity. A strong D gives the O more opportunities possessing the ball. The O creates more scoring opportunities via more 1st downs. They also keep their opponent from having the ball.
Football can be simplified yet effective. Of course, you supplement by bringing in other positions (TE Run & Pass, RB Run & Pass, WR Primarily Pass only on "O...." LB's, DB's on "D..... Kicker , Punter, Long Snapper), but you build a SOLID unshakable foundation NO MATTER WHAT). Build inside out.
In life, if we build//strengthen our inside 1st, (character), our outside can be strong.
Sending to Bolts via email.
This would be great to send to Telesco, Dean, John ,Lynn and Staley but thankfully they are all finally gone.

I guess it's nice that the media is talking about the Chargers for a change, they are also talking less about the Chiefs and the Cowboys, so that's kind of cool"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. I think the Chargers need to draft Edge and sign Edge -- whether that is Mack or Sweat or Baron Browning or some guy I never heard of it but Minter can make into a "Steve Foley" type -- misused on another roster

Mack - I am good on the right contract arrangement as I have stated - at his age, more year to year that you can get out of easily next year. I keep going back to Von Miller but it was pretty obvious the Bills had to keep him around long past his expiration date for what he was being paid.
But for sure, Edge needs to be a draft pick this April
