Bosa would have to take like a 53% pay cut to get down to that number, you really think he'd do that for the team? IDK...

Mack is replaceable. He is a good player these days but he isn't Myles Garrett - there could be better options for the future. Those are the options I want. Mack has maybe one good year left - let's be honest. 2023 was an aberration. The last half of 2024 - not as good as the first half. Sign a player who will be good 3-4 years. If Mack is back - fine. It's a one year deal basically -thats the best I have.
maybe if they played different positions it would be an isolated decision, but when you could end up with just Dupree and Tuli on the roster would you still cut Bosa?

Yeah, but he’s a paid spitballer.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
        Let’s win one for Mack.

Daniel Jeremiah probably has the best inside track to the Chargers and even he is spit balling. No in the origination is going to tell anyone what they are going to do and even if they tell Jeremiah I doubt he is going to let that cat out of the bag because he would lose his contact.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

Obviously you're talking pre-draft. Yes, cut Bosa.
Way over paid for what he brings. This is a very good Edge draft.

Bosa technically is making $0 as nothing is guaranteed. He will be lucky to get to $10m

Yes, I think his best days are behind him. At best I see Bosa as an 8-10m situational down pass rusher. Not an every down player

Find better talent. Bosa, Mack, Williams, Allen -- those are lateral moves at best. If not backward

                Move forward.

Hometown discount? I just don't know the number. And again, if you can spend a bit more for a better player that is going to be here, presumably, 3-4 years, why not sign that player.
If Mack is back - I trust Hortiz - I guess I am just open to other options.

I would argue that some of his higher picks didn't pan out either...

2013 #11 overall pick Fluker OT

2014 #25 overall pick Verrett DB

2015 #15 overall pick Gordon RB

2016 #3 overall pick Bosa Edge

2017 #7 overall pick Williams WR

                    2018 #18 overall pick James S

2019 #28 overall pick Tillery DT

2020 #6 overall pick Herbert QB and #23 overall pick Murray LB

2021 #13 overall pick Slater OT

                    2022 #17 overall pick Johnson G

2023 #21 overall pick Johnston WR

2024 #13 overall pick Bowers TE he picked this one for the Raiders...

Looking back at Telesco's 1st round picks, there are so many misses for a guy that gets credit for hitting in round 1, Bosa never lived up to the draft slot...Williams also never came close to top 7 type impact, even when he took Herbert he also took Murray which just makes the Herbert pick feel like bullshit luck...Slater was great and Bowers was a no brainer...I'm looking at the James, Herbert, Slater, and Bowers picks as his saving grace, otherwise the rest is kind of underwhelming...4 sure fire hits and 2-3 so so picks and 6-7 not so good looking picks...

If Not, and given the fact that he's been richly rewarded over the past 5 years I think he might. If not, I'm not worried about it and we save a bundle by letting him walk.

I didn't realize I left Mack's name off. I was referring to Mack re-signing for a hometown discount to clarify, not Bosa. My bad.

I think with Bosa it is time to cut ties. I think his body is shot. Unfortunately, it's time to move on.

Dre Greenlaw is another LBer to keep an eye on. He maybe a LBer the Chargers could add during free agency. He would likely cost less than Bolton.
