I think the Chargers could be in play for Adams. I understand the fit - he would complement Ladd better than just about any WR on the market, aside from Tee Higgins. But after seeing that group yesterday at the combine, that would probably be my first choice. Davante Adams with the Chargers will be a matter of "Dollars and (Does it Truly make) Sense" at those dollars .
I like Adams for sure! HOWEVER, What bothers me most is when we sign a player and give them huge contracts and they are in the top five on the team in salaries, and they come out and have 39 tackles and 6 sacks like Mack did, or they miss multi games and are a shell of them self like Bosa! I would hate to sign Adams and he has a so-so season!

It's time to get young players and weapons for Herbert in their prime.

My preference is still probably drafting somebody from yesterday as I think Adams will cost around 40m/2....

If trading for him, I would give up the Chargers 6th (or lower) if he agrees to a new contract. If released, wouldn't cost anything in the comp pick game which is why not giving up anything higher than a late 6th.
But for the 2025 season alone - Adams would be an ideal fit for Herbert.
So a sign and trade? He agrees to a new 2 year deal (40MIL) and The Chargers agree to give up a 6th.
      What about a 5th?

Agreed - my concern with older players is the probability of injuries or just skills declining are higher. Just a fact. Now that doesn't mean it will affect Adams, who in the last five y ears has been very healthy - except for the "shut down" last year to get traded.

Mack was hurt part of last year and his game has always been more than sacks - meaning he is very good against the run, setting the Edge but for Herbert, draft one of those players from yesterday.

Granted for the 2025 - I think Adams if healthy would ball out with Herbert

Something like that -- Adams agrees to a new contract --- Chargers giving the Jets a pick for the right to talk to him basically.

I think a 5th is steep for a guy they are releasing

I know. But you get him. That’s why I wanted to know his current contract. If it’s a big mess then I wouldn’t trade until I knew he’d resign a new deal.

Adam’s was pretty dang good last year with a giant fustercluck of a team..
I don’t think he lacks effort. I think he’s lacked a legitimate team to play for.

                Here’s Adam’s contract. Yeah, I forgot, it’s ridiculous.
So only a pick if he agrees to a new deal.
I imagine he would especially if it’s the Chargers.

He is a heckuva player and would be a great fit.

Hortiz would definitely having a little "lets go for this s**t!!" if you are getting Davante Adams
still need to fix IOL though

Oh no, nobody is paying him 36m this year. And if they do, even if they are the Titans, my guess Adams would go if somebody is paying him $36m
So I don't think thats a problem. It is more 1) what would he play for 2) would the Chargers be interested 3) can a deal be struck

That’s fine. They could still address it in FA.
I would expect a Bosa to DET or SF trade not long after though…
Basically replicate the same thing. Eat 6 MIL and free up that other money and send off Joey for a pick.
It’s a wash except the offense gets much better immediately.

I think so. This represents his last contract and I think he knows it.
Perfect place to try to win a SB and finish his career.

Just read that Fowler and Graziano are "hearing" that Tampa may be interested in Khalil Mack. Another team.

Osa O is probably signing back with the Cowboys so take him off the list of available DL

I still think the Bosa trade is a pipe dream - but you never know - he might have a market where the team reworks the contract to trade for him.
